the problem isn't avery, it's cuban. this bitch always finds a way to fuck up the chemistry of the team, i mean why in the fuck would you trade away your up and coming pg for an older one?

But the Mav's put themselves in this position. They traded their bench, upcoming PG, and future in draft picks..............to pick up an over the hill Jason Kidd. They mortgaged their future for a puzzle piece that was not GOING TO BRING YOU A RING.

I try to stay out of some of these threads but I can't help it.
Some of yall show that you either, don't have much knowledge of the game, or you don't watch a team closely and only regurgitate what other people say.
The 2006 NBA Finals was a travesty of officiating. Even some NBA players like Tracy McGrady (rival of the Mavs) even came out and called out the league. Yes, the Mavs did fuck up some in those games (Dirk and Josh FT misses in the 4th of Game 5) but the officiating in the last 5 minutes of Game 3, Game 5 and some of Game 6 was an embarrasment. How can you allow 80s-90s Piston style ball on one end (Heat) and touch fouls/non-fouls on the other end. The Mavs couldn't even breath on Wade, thus allowing him to be able to do what he wanted on the court.
As far as the Golden State series, GS has always had the Mavs number for a few years. As far as blame, you can start when Avery changed his starting lineup in game 1 to adjust to an 8th seed. We had Damp and Diop there to goon it up and rebound but he tried to adapt to them rather than allowing an 8th seed adapt to a 67 win team. Dirk also gets blame for not adapting to a coach that knows his flaws and not standing up to Stephen Jackson. This series killed a lot of his credibility.
As far as this year, Avery has been mediocre. The league has figured him out and he refuses to make adjustments. Look at how the Mavs play in the 2nd half of games, especially the 3rd qtr. The opposition's coach makes adjustments and Avery doesn't until midway thru the 4th qtr. By then the Mavs have blown a double digit lead and trail by double digits. He pushed for the Kidd trade because he hated Devin Harris. He overcoaches when it comes to the PG position. Thats why Kidd has had a "WTF" look on his face on offense and why Harris has spoken out on how he finally feels "free". I don't want to see my folks get fired but Avery needs to be. Sometimes you need to be fired to become better. He'll learn from this and become a better coach. He's made some horrible mistakes.
Cuban lets his coaches coach and his GM manage and then he pulls the trigger. I personally, thought the Kidd deal was a terrible trade. If anything I would have trade Dirk to LA for Kobe in the summer.
I agree with your "Robin" analogy. However, how many "Batmans" are in the league? Kobe? Lebron? Sheeit, I bet in 2010, Cuban is gonna clear cap and try and get Lebron if he doesn't go to NJ first.
GOOD ANALYSIS. avery has always been the kind who feels he can call somebody out. he did it to david robinson during halftime of one of san antonios championship games. but that gets old after a while, especially if he is caught up in his act and not adjusting.

He probably is but this team is Cuban's fault, not his. If it was up to Avery, we probably would have traded Dirk soft ass for a real big man like KG. The only bright spot on the mavs right now is Brandon Bass. He has been quietly doing his thing out there. Avery is a good coach but they need to let him make decisions as far as personnel goes.
