Apples iPhone has finally opened up and established a business plan. The iPhone plan proves that Apple really want to open up to the market on many different levels. The Plan break down is as follows:

2 year commitment, voice service, and data plan required
$45 per month for unlimited data, visual voicemail, and 200 SMSes; $55 ups the SMS limit to 1,500; $65 for unlimited everything
An extra $25 per month nabs a 20MB montly data plan good for 29 countries, $60 per month ups the limit to 50MB
Activate by 31 March and qualified accounts will receive a service credit of $25 per month good through 31 December, 2008 -- yeah, that's a sweet deal.

The iPhone also receives a 3GB model witch proves to help sales.

Nice, but the Iphone is not the best "business user" power phone.
It was designed to be a MMD - Multi Media Device.

Until Apple irons some shit out, and AT&T becomes a better service, I'll stick with my Blackberry.

maybe so

but every exec in every company is asking their I.T. department when will they finally be able to get am iPhone for work..

my company has been testing for months

$65 dollars is not bad, in regards to there "normal" plans.

i dont think be picking one up though until it has (1) a flash player (2) a keyboard i can physically touch (3) i can install shit without hacking and voiding the warranty... translation hello iphone2

That's only the curiosity factor bruh.

My CEO went Treo ... then to Blackberry.
Blackberry ... then fucked with Q .. back to Blackberry.
Blackberry ... then fucked with Treo 610 ... back to Blackberry.
Blackberry ... fucked with some Window Smart Phone ... back to Blackberry.
Blackberry ... fucked with Iphone ... back to Blackberry.

In the end, it's Blackberry if you're a power business user and want rock solid stability with a solid infrastructure and integration backbone.

If you want a smart multi media device, you go Iphone at this point.

Iphone has a lot of defiencies that need to be addressed before you start fucking with the business community. It's a whole different animal. Like Military equipment vs. Civilian.

IMHO Iphone problems for the bus'n community are:
- No changeable battery (I carry two back-ups to slap in my Pearl). Huge minus for the business user. Can't assume you'll always be near a charge port or have your Ipod with you.
- When I go out the country, I just swap my SIM card. Try that on an Iphone.
- It's not on the next gen networks. It's slow relatively speaking.
- Try using the "touch screen" with gloves on - no dice.
- Closed and unfamiliar architecture (scary for most I/T support teams)
- Push technology is not as fast as the Blackberries.
-

I ran into a colleague this weekend.

We were going to exchanging info, He has an iPhone

I cant front the interface is slick, but-

I asked him to beam his contact info to me-

-He couldn't

I asked him to transmit his business card to me via Bluetooth

-It cant do that.

He said he would type his info and text message it to me
When I asked, "What the hell is that?"

He said, "this phone isnt for business users"

You're right about this. Most companies still won't allow it nor use it for work. iPhone is not a true smartphone, but it sure as hell looks good..lol..
Nah, but I do believe Apple is working on the next gen iphone to compete with true smartphones when it rolls out later this year or next year.
Good to see AT&T & Apple working on this early though.

PEACE!!!!!

I have a Treo 700w, and i must say that i do like it, it has what i need and does a good job of it:yes: I thought about going to the 755p

I'm thinking about getting this little one to start off with a smartphone.
Has anyone used it yet? I know its only like a novice level of smartphones,
which is fine with me. Have to get the hang of it before moving on to the
real big dogs.

all this maybe true again

but these exec's are the ultimate diva's at times

what they want they get no matter what

more money gets spent on their bullshit requests than on actual company needs and services that work...

the iphone is being tested and the company works with at&t the same way we work with microsoft for office bugs not because of need but because of random wants executives have..

some of them just want to use it for personal use not business but they want the company to pay for it.

Had that N95 for a min... dayum good phone. Huge hard drive.. 5mp cam and just sick to use. But I ended up getting rid of it and going with the blackberry 8830 world editon. Getting all the multimedia I can handle and rock solid phone/email use that I dont have to "Pull" to get. Tried the Iphone but couldnt deal with the slow ass internet speeds. Will wait for Iphone2 with 16gb and 3G speeds.

Iphone 2.........................till then I'm Blackberry Curved up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

could take this shit to the jungle and get signal and a map:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

I thought the N95 was a true smartphone? Or you felt better with the Blackberry 8830? I did find a black edition of the N95, but that price.:smh: I think it does just about everything, just maybe not well enough.

PEACE!!!!!

now if i could get that plan for my 8525 i would be happy....but on a iphone...i dont think so

Thanks for the info!

1 of my boys from work has this phone. This shit is the bidness. The phone runs off of Linux so u can basically program it for whatever u need on the phone. U can take a pic of someone's business card and it will sort out the info 4 u automatically. The shit indeed.

It's not really a bad price either. Like $200 bucks cheaper than the Nokia. How about calls? Did he say if they would drop quite often using a motorola or mixed up signals? I've used Motorola & Nokia, and I must say I've had more problems with them, but I'm just thinking I always got some old bottom of the line shit. So I'm still open-minded to getting another one, if its worth it.
Thanks for the info so far.

PEACE!!!!!

Got an Iphone as a secondary phone but my Curve is my primary... Waiting for the Blackberry 9000 to drop in the next couple months (touchscreen). Iphone is cool, but the 2nd generation 3G Iphone will be a DEFENITELY well-deserved UPGRADE......

Everybody in my company has an IPhone. People think if you work for AT&T you automatically should have one.

When I told them I was getting the Ipod Touch they were all tripping.

But I can't see myself with a phone and no text messaging.

Plus I get double the space for the same price even with my employee discount.

Maybe in another year.

last i read, there were problems getting the iphone to work with exchange.
most of my blackberry users (execs) are up and running instantly.

you ever spend an hour with a diva ass exec. trying to get their overpriced iphone to work??
I stick with the blackberry

What do you mean? My Iphone has text messages, in fact, I can type faster on this phone than any phone I have ever owned.

As far as calls i really don't know. I'm a construction worker so we were in a building where if u didn't have Nextel u weren't getting a signal at all. I'll call and ask him about it and more of the features tomorrow.

No one in my job is using text messages.

What about corporate email?

Naw, no corporate email and it doesn't connect to the enterprise.
Iphone is a good personal phone...not a business phone.

I have all of my relatives, friends, co-workers (About 200 people) in this phone to include their birthdays, anniversaries, addresses and photo ID.

With the latest update I can get turn by turn directions to all of their homes from my current location with a touch of a few buttons.

When I was with my extended family during Christmas, my cousins pulled out their Blackberries and Blackjacks and Treos, but it was over when I pulled out the Iphone.

I can do that with my regular celly.

I just needed a PMP and the Ipod Touch works fine for that. I think the Blackberry surpasses most phones in terms of corporate email and that's what biz users need.

I love my iPhone. I don't know what yall use your phones for but I love my PHONE. There are a couple features that would send it over the top (flash/copy-paste). Otherwise for what I use it for its flawless. I also cant wait for it to be opened up to 3rd party apps.
