One thing that we don't really enjoy watching is pricey gadgets being tortured, but if that's the only way to test the durability of a high-end smartphone, then count us in. Today's contenders are the iPhone 5, which is now available for purchase in several countries, and the Samsung Galaxy S III, which is currently among the hottest Android smartphones in existence. Which one of the two will suffer less damage after being put to a real-life drop test?

We won't tell you, of course. In order to find the answer to that question, you'll have to watch the video, which we've embedded below. Just keep in mind that what you are about to see is not for the faint-hearted geeks. You've been warned!

look at the rest of his videos, he's more Famdroid than anyone on BGOL:D

still, everybody know it's about what's inside the phone, not silly durability :D

Me and my wife noticed that. She has a iphone and was like dude on some bullshit. But this response makes the most sense...
Glass by nature is very brittle. So if you have more & longer pieces of glass it will always break faster than the less glass or shorter pieces of glass.

My example would be a glass shot glass & a glass standard drinking glass. The shot glass will always survive because there is less real-estate as supposed to the standard drinking glass.

Yeah I have dropped a shot glass from time to time during the college years. lol

I would have guessed the heavier iphone's screen would have cracked first just based off of physics and gravity alone. It seems pretty sturdy.

It's not the height, it's the angle the phone hits the ground, so it's not a equal test.

And I hope dudes don't start saying they care about durability, as many 4 and 4's phones I've seen with cracked screens.

the point is not to drop your phone....:confused::confused:

just like boxing, the point is not to get hit not who can take the most blows.

besides my phone is in a shell and its insured.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:
