[SIZE=-1]Community Relations Intern - Los Angeles Lakers (El Segundo, CA)[/SIZE]
The Los Angeles Lakers Community Relations department currently has (2) openings for part-time seasonal internships for the 2008-2009 NBA season.
The Community Relations department oversees the Lakers’ community outreach programs, player appearances and charitable donations. Interns must work in the office one day a week from 9:30AM – 5:00PM and at all home games. Interns will also occasionally be asked to assist at special events throughout the season. The seasonal commitment is from October 2008 – April 2009, with a potential to run until June 2009.
On game days/nights, the responsibilities of the intern are to assist with all areas pertaining to the Community Relations department including overseeing the in-arena auction table, coordinating volunteer groups for promotional giveaways and administering programs such as the honorary camera kid, honorary high five squad and honorary ball kid.
To be considered for an internship position, applicant must:
• Receive college or graduate school credit for internship.
• Be a junior or senior in college or in graduate school.
• Be able to work at ALL 41 regular season home games and any potential 2009 NBA Playoff games. Please check the Lakers 2008-09 regular season home schedule on the Lakers website at www.lakers.com to make sure you have no conflicts before applying. Please note that we have games on holidays (e.g. Christmas, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Easter, etc.) and you are expected to work. Please also keep in mind that you will be expected to arrive at the arena two to three hours prior to game time for all home games.
• Experience working with non-profit organizations and/or volunteering in the community are a plus.
