I grew up around dudes like this that valued social respect. Even if we disagreed, no one was using profanity or name calling. This guard thought the badge would protect her from someone who is already in the worst possible circumstance of his life. Just give mutual respect. There are plenty of videos online of prisoners helping guards that were attacked by other inmates or suffering from a medical emergency.
