Ingenious way some Nigerians use to keep their food refrigerated with out power...

What's funny about coming across this last night is I was looking for ways people did things in their home without the use of power like different ways to heat their homes in the winter w/o using firewood etc. Then found this on BGOL.

I think as a people we should learn how to control our own destiny during an emergency situation, where we know we will be the last to get help...

This is so fucking dope!!! I wonder if this principle has been used in any of those sustainable homes?

Whats so dope? It's only a 10 degree difference than the outside air. During katirna shit was like 100 degrees outside. FOH

that's because a small pot was used in the video you dope
Not to mention that it wasn't consistently 100 especially if it was out of the sun, plus imagine the possibilities of having one of these (with a large pot as you mentioned) and packing it with ice...
Taking it one step further, imagine having cooked food in there, shit should last over a week... especially if you keep filling it up with cold water...

Here is something else I posted in the Flint contaminated water thread, a water purification system that could be used to filter out and purify water in the case of an emergency such as Flint or Katrina or for regular tap water that may or may not be clean...
For my people lining out there, take a look at this.... One side note, use coffee filters instead of paper towels, if you can, and be sure to boil the water after you finished, then when you done filter it again via a normal warter filter...
Step one use this tequnic with the coffee filters, if possible.

Then use one of these if possible, if not filter it with the other method three times, or one more time with a regular filter

Then boil the water....

Check later...
