Incase You Forgot Gennady Golovkin VS Kell Brook Starts NOW on HBO

Man Brook was hurt worse in the 1st round, trainer on some fuck shit

It was about to be over.

When GGG threw the flurry of punches and Brook put his arms out saying "Come on", Brook put his glove on the rope to help him balance himself. He was hurt then.

Meldrick Taylor's problem was dehydration.

I have to hear what Brooks people have to say on why he stopped it before I pass judgement.

Taylor was pissing blood and I'm not talking about little pink either. However, Steele shouldn't have waived it off as he was coherent.

Trainer was on some sportsbook shit or just cashing Brook out, let that man fight, was still on his feet.

He was fucked up after that fight.

There was a "blowout fracture" of the orbital bones surrounding the left eye, a lacerated lip that caused him to lose and swallow two pints of blood, bleeding in his kidneys and dehydration. Taylor was placed on a stretcher and taken to the hospital by ambulance. He was given fluids and blood transfusions at the hospital, and took a CAT-scan to check for brain damage. The state boxing commission suspended him for 90 days for medical reasons.

These Dudes have to live after these fights. Dehydration didnt have Taylors speech all fucked up after that fight Chavez's punches did. These trainers know their fighters better than a fan watching on TV. He obviously saw something that concerned him and protected his fighter. You dont let your fighter keep going and end up ruined, it only takes one punch. Kid has a long bright future ahead of him...

Big Ups to GGG who knocked out a world class fighter in his hometown. Definitely earned my respect tonight.

Taylor had all them Philly gym wars plus the Chavez fight, that's why his brain got all fucked up

Not accurate.
When he put his hands up, he was talking to GGG like "Cmon hit me".
GGG was missing the majority of the punches up to that and even afterward.
I saw it on the first play and now on the replay.
His corner just decided that this wasn't gonna go on anymore even though he wasn't getting beat on.
Possibly could have been hurt but even GGG said he didn't get a chance to give it up the way he's used to, street fight style and Brooks only appeared to deal with them head shots to the eye.
Another round and he would have possibly been hurt but I really didn't see it but his corner did.

Now he's admitting that his eye was fucked up in the 2nd and I feel exactly what Bernard was saying and questioning Brooks abt. He could of went on but at a cost.
That lack of balance was from that eye jammy

EXACTLY!!!! People aren't looking at the entire body of the fight. In that round Brook look short circuited. Normally he would take a few shots on the ropes, spin off and come back. THAT round Brook was getting beat the fuck up from pillar to post and would have gotten hurt badly...

...and those bombs from Chavez did their fair share of damage... He was still world class until AFTER those Philly fights. That was the fight that ruined him...

Oh shit who's on that card playa?

My fault, it's on UniMas:

At Lemoore, Calf. (UniMas):

  • Andy Ruiz vs. Franklin Lawrence, 10 rounds, heavyweights

  • Raymundo Beltran vs. Tomas Mendez, 10 rounds, lightweights

  • Daniel Valdivia vs. Gilberto Pereira, 8 rounds, junior middleweights

  • Quilisto Madera vs. Cameron Sevilla, 4 rounds, middleweights

  • Saul Lomas vs. Joshua Joseph, 4 rounds, welterweights

  • Ector Madera vs. TBA, 4 rounds, junior welterweights

  • Arturo Marquez vs. Curtis Waller, 4 rounds, welterweights

  • Rudy Macedo vs. TBA, 4 rounds, welterweights

  • Brent Venegas vs. Yesber Romero, 4 rounds, flyweights

He looked hurt to me, when I saw him put his glove on the rope I knew it was over soon.

Plus Brook was punching back.

I agree with this. I feel GGG got momentum in that round and Brooks people panicked and threw in the towel early to protect their fighter.

Mark of a great trainer....
....... who easily saved that eye he was seeing 4xs through in the 2nd.
Them punches would have literally been blinding even though we wanted to see more of that work and a possible couple of good looks for Brooks.
Even GGG rated himself a 3 on that fight

Brook suffered a broken eye socket... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/boxing/kell-brook-gennady-golovkin-live-8808643

As I said, a fighter job is to fight, a trainers job is to train AND protect their fighters, sometimes from themselves...

Everybody calling for an early stoppage, I'll leave that alone
...anyway, great stoppage by a great trainer! His fighter will live to fight another day... Kid has a bright future, no need ruining it on some macho shit!

That is why I said I'd wait to hear what his corner said.

I have to hear what Brooks people have to say on why he stopped it before I pass judgement.

When I heard Brooks post-fight interview and he said he said he saw four people I knew there was an issue.

Some of you don't what the fuck you're talking about. He didn't win more than a minute out of each round. He won the 2nd based on 30 seconds bookended by lot of punishment from GGG.

That was an ass-whipping. In that last round, he wasn't fighting back and couldn't get away.

I was yelling he was too close in the first round. GGG was touching him in the first minute. If you're going to beat GGG you cannot be right in front of him. You have to be at angles or in and out. How can you say he didn't cut the ring off when Brook spent so much time in the corner or against the ropes. He really didn't win the fight in the middle of the ring either. The majority of his punches landed when GGG was throwing earmuffs, wanting him to throw. GGG had complete disregard for his punches.

There was a time Brook blocked a punch and looked at his glove like what the fuck was that, it ain't supposed to hurt like that.

OK and thankz for the clear up

GGG is a heavy handed muthafucka. Kelly never hurt GGG. If anything it made him (GGG) more careless and easier to hit. Folks tend to forget about the energy it takes to actually avoid punches. GGG simply took that shit because he knew the guy couldn't hurt him. Sort of like Holyfield who use to eat a lot of shots. It was hard to hurt that no neck having dude. His corner called it right. The moment they new they could only win with Kelly eating a lot of shots (a beatdown is far worse than a quick knockout) and lasting twelve rounds they knew the odds were small. Their fighter would have gotten beaten up. Leave him at Welterweight. That's where he belongs.
