In the Age of AI , is IT still a worth it career choice ?

Those in the IT field seeing loads of lay offs in the IT world , is it still a worth it industry to enter or best to learn something else . Some will say these still opportunity and room in that industry, if so what part of IT is growing and will continue to grow ?

Also jobs are not completely going to disappear. There are just going to be fewer hands needed.

But my advice will be stick to the books and use AI as a tool.

Im sure some tech jobs will be affected, but from what I understand Security sect of IT is doing

extremely well and doesnt look to be slowing down...

A.I. requires Cloud Based and Security support. Both fields are in very HIGH demand.

IT is not going anywhere. The layoffs were due to the over hiring during Covid. It was just a reset. Go on indeed and search IT jobs in your area. You will see many are hiring.

The people that embrace AI will keep a job, people who want to keep doing things the way they always have will be out.
