Ice Cube says Biden administration has reached out to him

Ice Cube said in a recent interview that the Biden administration reached out to him earlier this week and disclosed a possible meeting could be in the works for sometime later this month.

The music and movie star, who has been making efforts in recent months to discuss his Contract with Black America proposal with the nation's top politicians, made the remarks during an appearance on the "Ryan Cameron Uncensored" show on MAJIC 107.9 released on Wednesday.

"Yesterday they reached out to me," he said, referring to the Biden administration. However, he added that the details for a possible meeting hadn't yet been hashed out. "We haven't talked yet. We're just starting to figure out when we can have this meeting and how we're gonna have it."

"I believe it'll go down sometime this month," he said later.

It was unclear which part of the administration reached out to Ice Cube from the interview.

Earlier in the interview, the musician said he believes the new administration is "really into helping all minorities," but added that "Black people in this country are in a unique position."

"There needs to be things as far as specialty programs. You know me, I'm all about reparations. It seems like a bad word to this administration but we gotta change that. We gotta have them speaking about reparations and add some fairness to this system," he said.

He later pointed out that reparations for Black Americans can "come in different forms," including "programs, grants," and "tax relief."

"We can figure it out," he continued. "It doesn't have to be all or nothing. We'll take something. But you've gotta do something."

During his interview, Ice Cube was also pressed about his past communication with the previous administration on his proposal for Black America, which aims to present "a blueprint to achieve racial economic justice" in the country.

The rapper had drawn criticism last year after a Trump campaign adviser, Katrina Pierson, praised him on Twitter in October for working with the Trump administration on its "Platinum Plan" geared toward African Americans.

At the time, Ice Cube said both parties contacted him after he released his own plan, but he claimed he was told by Democrats that they would address it "after the election."

The former N.W.A. member defended working with the Trump administration on the effort at the time, despite his past criticism of the president and his administration, which he rapped in 2018 treated the White House "like a trap house."

He again pushed back on the criticism this week, saying "at the end of the day, whether a Democrat or a Republican is in the White House, they're still not looking at our agenda in the right way."

"We still gotta get them to acknowledge and remedy the situation. So, right now, they like to acknowledge but nobody wants to do what it takes to remedy the situation," he said. "Everybody want to point out, that, 'Yeah, you guys should be upset about your treatment in America.'"

"But nobody wants to do what it takes to fix it. So, that's the part that we need to get on these politicians about, and they have the power to. They just won't do it," he said.

Remarking on the massive turnout seen from voters in the African American community in the recent Senate runoff elections in Georgia, Ice Cube said: "I think it's great. We always show up."

"We show up for one party right now mainly and so do they show up for us as a whole? You know, not just appointing Black people to positions, but actually giving them the power and incentive to do something for all of us?" he continued, appearing to refer to the Democratic party.

"You know, right now, I feel like there's a lot of symbolism going around, but it's not a lot of tangibles going around," he added.

Naw, you overlooking the fact people saw that Trump was using it to gain votes and they knew Trump really had no intentions of seriously entertaining what Ice Cube wanted.

Sounds like standard politics.
Both using each other for a favorable outcome.

Interesting read.
Never said he was perfect.

UUmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm you dont see how this is ironic??? So you think Biden is about to give a fudge about what this musician has to say? I look at it as politicians takingus as a joke more than anything. WTF is Biden meeting with Ice Cube for? An autograph? A live performance? It better not be for any sort of advice about what to do with my life

So if anything comes out of it you don't want it?

Where did I say anything like that? Your ignoring the part where I'm saying this is setting a dangerous precedent. If we can get something out of random celebs meeting with the President then it also means the opposite. I don't want celebrities having influence over elected officials

"It was unclear which part of the administration reached out to Ice Cube from the interview."

I'm done. It's bullshit.

Who is ice cube to speak for us. We got plenty of educated delegates who do this for a living. Far more people qualified to be '' the voice'' of US.

Ask yourself why these so call Educated Delegates are not doing as much as Cube. Why did it take Cube to put a plan together, make an announcement and involve Black people in the process by keeping them in the loop. These educated Delegates have yet to do anything close to this. Over 50 years and not one has put action behind their words nor allow Black people in on their plans.
I'll take Cubes agenda anyday over an educated snake looking out for himself.

Ice Cube has never walked a day in the shoes of people who hunger for truth and thirst for liberation. America is the biggest terrorist on the face of the earth and always trying to police others as though they are the problem. The problem is damn near the whole earth is forced to bow down to a white reality and white supremacy. Why do we think there are no foundations from the garden of eden or the people that built the pyramids still around? Because we were born and live in a kingdom that thrives off of the domination of truth. Biden has never been black and the president seat is a seat of white.

I'm assuming that's what the quote below meant. I dunno what kinda advice he could have about "what to do with your life" I assumed you meant "advice on anything that affects your life"

I've clearly stated (in other posts) my issues with how Ice Cube went about it and how our "leaders" are chosen. But hey if something positive can come out of it then so be it. People (mostly agents/Trump supporters) were pointing out the fact Trump met with him and Biden/Harris didn't. They tried to make it seem as though they snub him. That's the main point of the thread.

I already cancel his gate card access, he got a chance to get back in, but kanye west is permanently ban, Never disrespect the ancestors period!

Ice Cube being cancelled by Democratic LGBT West Indians is the nail in the coffin to his career. How will he ever recover from losing such an important demographic? :roflmao2:

So many were quick to throw him under the bus when all he wanted was to put Blk folks first regardless of who was in office.
I don't think it's that... he kinda did it to himself

I'm all for the work that Cube is doing. Let's start with that. But he came out and made it known in a way that made people believe that one was supportive of his agenda while the other wasn't.

45 was using him and it's like he didn't see it. Ice Cube was nothing more than a prop to appeal to black voters, which was a demographic that 45 polled historically low in.

If Cube was smart he'd have laid the foundation, started really promoting it and getting it out there what this agenda was and its benefits, then said after whoever assumes the presidency, i want a meeting to discuss the black agenda..

I hope not. He needs to repair his reputation by his actions, not by jumping on the bandwagon.
