I voted at 6:50 a.m. I was only the 6th person to vote in person at my polling location

There was no line. I walked up showed my i.d. and immediately went to a voting machine. I live in a democratic district. The fact that there were only two of us at my polling location is concerning.
What state? Without knowing that it's hard to give a proper opinion.

Unfortunately many of our people don't feel it's shit worth voting for. The Democrats haven't done a good job at pushing shit that many blacks feel is speaking to there needs. Then when shit looks bleak they try to sell you on Republicans are terrible etc...This doesn't motivate our people to vote and many will sit this one out. :smh:

Here in FL Crist looks like he pocketed the campaign money. I have seen very few signs or commercials for him. In contrast, deathsantis shit is everywhere. :smh:

We voted early in person, so we did our part. :dunno:

I was really going to go at you because comments like yours really grind my gears. But I'll just ask you did you need to be pushed to vote?. Did you have to be sold on the fact that Republicans are terrible? Is it a lack of motivation that causes way too many of us not vote or just laziness? I fear a ballot box could be placed on doorsteps and the terminally lazy still wouldn't vote if it meant having to get out of bed to do so.
To those folks I just say, "if you don't vote, don't bitch about your needs not being met". :mad:

Maybe you didn't see many signs or commercials for Crist because his campaign coffers compared to DeSantis were nearly empty.
DeSantis raised $172 million as of Aug. 19, 11 times more than Crist. :hmm:

I voted early but a lot of people are registered to vote. My mother voted early and she has always voted Democrat. How do you think she feels when they run commercials on crime all day? My parents are retired. Do you think they agree with all this gay promotion and drug legalization? Threats to reduce their retirement when they have worked 30 plus years? Do you think they enjoy seeing gay news anchors and White House staff coming out announcing that they are LGBTQ as if that is some sort of accomplishment.

They voted already but let's just say they were not so excited to do so. Then you have people working and barely have time anything else. They may only vote if they have time too. A lot of black folks are tired of not seeing themselves or agendas they value show up in these elections.

Vote for policies, not politicians is my motto.

I am not against brothas and sistas abstaining from voting for ineffective celebrity-seeking politicians, but there are questions on the ballot that can and will affect their lives.

I got into it with a friend last night about this- she is one of those people who is actually too lazy to go vote, but won't admit that, she likes to say;

"statistically speaking, my one single vote in the millions of other peoples vote doesn't matter". :smh:

I'm glad our folks in the 60's in Selma and Montgomery and other places didn't feel that way. I don't get, how a black woman, of all people doesn't understand UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL.

We got people who suffered getting called out their name, spit on, dogs, firehoses, violence etc for that right- I could never look one of those people in the eye and tell them; "thanks for all you did, but yeah, both sides, you know... I'm sitting this one out". :smh:

in fact, I don't even look at it as a right- I look at it as a responsibility- and that's what I've taught my children as well. You need to change the oil in your car every so often, you need to pay bills on time, you need to vote- it's just one of those thing responsible people DO.

I told her; well you seem to understand how "statistically speaking", the .00001 cent you pay for a particular tax levy doesn't financially affect you but you stay complaining about how high your taxes are- and she was like, "yeah, but that's just one, when you add them all together..... " then she stopped dead

I was like; lol, gatcha, bitch!

then she started in on how she had to go to work.... I just :rolleyes2: at that point, I was so heated I had to get off the damn phone. There's a few issues on the ballot where we live where business are asking for Sunday liquor licenses. I CAN'T WAIT for this heifer to start complaining about this one restaurant in particular selling wine/spirits on Sunday... IT WAS ON THE BALLOT ASSHOLE, BUT YOU DIDN'T VOTE!!!!!!

:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:

If nothing else, ANYTHING that white people DON'T want you to have or do- and go so fucking far to keep you from doing... that should tell you everything you need to know.

Is it usually a lot busier that early on election day?
my polling place was a little more busy than usual at like 9:30AM, but I'm out in the burbs. First time ever at this particular place that parking was a chore though.

At 9 am, I entered the polling place; there was a nice line, and there were black folks in front of and behind me.
All very encouraging.
Tony Evers and Mandela Barnes. Making Wisconsin all blue :yes:

Collectively untrue
I know in NYS Hochul was spending hardly no time in NYC and it possibly could cost her the election. Even Seldin came out and said if was Cuomo he would of been sure to lock down NYC.
Hochul is basically from Buffalo but she thought she had the election won already. Biden has run to NY twice in the past 10 days to help Hochul and Kamala Harris has been here too. I'm not saying collectively they are lazy but definitely some poor planning.

I voted 2nd day of early voting so it's whatever. I can sit back and watch it all go down until I get tired of it.

Then I'll put on Top Gun 2 or some other movie I have been waiting to see and find out tomorrow what happened. Personal tradition.

Fam, you're right about some piss poor planning with some candidates. There are some districts where a candidate is under the impression that because some districts historically vote blue or red, they got it in the bag. For example, Obama TRIED to tell Clinton but her pants suit ass didn't listen :lol:

Most people under 50 doing Mail in voting. I don’t go to polls it’s easier to mail that shit in.

I won't lie, this is the first time I voted in an Ohio mid-term. On Presidential elections there's always a line, and voting takes between 30 min to an hour. This is an important mid-term though. So I thought there would be a similar turn out.
