I Thought The Big Ten Had Great Football Teams...

People have to take into account until the BCS was formed there hasn't been a real National Championship. Some people consider the AP poll to be the champion while others use to consider the Rose Bowl to be the National Championship. If someone would look those numbers up I'm sure it would change. Also Larry Coker isn't getting a big coaching job. HE fucking sucks as a Head Coach. He single handley ruined the Miami program.

Purdue Lost By Three In Both Of Its Bowl Games Against Georgia

Minnesota Beat Arkansas And Alabama In Recent Bowl Games And Is 2-0 Against Sec Teams

Im partial to 2000 FSU cause thats my squad and it turned out better NFL players LOL...but yeah 95 Nebraska was ridiculous, sad thing is none of those dudes panned out in the NFL as stars or really anything significant.

I still haven't seen a better individual performance than Tommy Frazier in the Orange Bowl against Florida.. and that one play he had..where he ran through that entire team.. was just the biggest bitchslap I've ever seen to a defense...

The O-linemen were the main cogs on that team. Many are still in the league. Actually a lot of the team is still playing

http://www.darthhusker.com/1997roster.htm

Mike Brown, Ahman Green, Grant Wistrom, The O-line, Kyle Vanden Bosch, Mike Rucker, Correll Buckhalter and a few more.

Michigan and Nick Saban beat Florida and Steve Spurrier in 2000, Ironically Michigan St lost against LSU......

AGAINST WHY IN THE FUCK DO YOU BELIEVE THAT BIG TEN TEAMS CANT COMPETE HEAD TO HEAD.....OHIO ST. SUCKS AGAINST THE SEC BUT OTHER TEAMS HAVE REPRESENTED NICELY WHEN IT MATTERED.... AGAIN, YOU ALL RATHER MUD SLING AND USE CONJECTURE

Linemen is their thing. But I said GREAT NFL players, not just NFL players.

I feel you, I'm a Canes fan and I was being sarcastic about Larry "uncle fester" Coker. How can anybody not include the 2001hurricanes ? Portis, Mcgahee, Davenport, Gore, Winslow and Shockey, Andre Johnson, Mt McKinnie, Vince Wilfork, Vilma, D. J. Williams, Phillip Buchanon, Rumph, sean taylor and Ed Reed. I left off a bunch of first rounders.

One, i'm fucking with you. Seriously though, you have to admit that two titles over that time span is shaky for a power conference. It shocked me when I looked it up.

The purpose of this thread is to illustrate that the BIG 10 has managed to win only 3 national championships in 39 years. There is no conjecture in that. It's a fact.

You can't defend that.

So deal with it.

for some reason this post made me laugh

But I agree with you, the Big 10 has been vastly overrated for a while now but media personalities paint an entirely different picture.......shocking isn't it.....

not shocking to me. every year, osu and esp. michigan and wisconsin are ranked in the top 15 REGARDLESS of what they did the previous year.

michigan ALWAYS loses to someone in-conference and disappoints and wisconsin just never plays any hard opponents pre-conference. look at this year... the citadel, unlv, etc. :smh::smh::smh: the TOUGHEST game wisconsin had last year WAS their bowl game against a young arkansas team that came on strong at the end. the stats from that game told me all i needed to know, but i'll admit: the only one that matters is the scoreboard.

btw, props to coach paterno for bringing in a prepared team to face tennessee and the village idiot fulmer. i actually like penn state MORE than tennessee until fulmer starts using his running backs INSTEAD of trying to MAKE a famous white boy qb.

You have to be shittin' me. That just doesn't sound right. Can anybody refute this?

again, one of those c-ships was TAKEN from the "u."

And that one is tainted because of the worst call in the history of college football.

co-sign. the ABSOLUTE worse call in history, and they KNOW IT!! but i hope you can now understand their desperation.

bowl game are just an end-of-the-year snapshot.

i'm MORE interested in TOUGH CONFERENCE PLAY every damn saturday like you get in the SEC. not the blowouts you see by usc and cal in the pac 10 or the blowouts you've seen this year by osu over northwestern, etc.

in the SEC, EVERY saturday is a dice roll. you come in flat and any given saturday could mean an ass whooping. sleep on kentucky or south carolina or even georgia.

my point about the SEC is as follows: there is tough competition top-to-bottom in conference play, and because of the CHAMPIONSHIP played at the end of the year, the champion of the SEC will usually have at least 1 loss and because of the loss, will be excluded from the nat'l championship considerations.
'
STOP THE SKATING IN THE BIG 10 AND PAC 10.
PLAY A TOUGHER OUT OF CONFERENCE SCHEDULE AND PLAY A CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP.
VOTE FOR A PLAYOFF SYSTEM IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL.
STOP BELIEVING THE MEDIA'S HYPE OF BIG 10 FOOTBALL. IT'S JUST THAT. HYPE.
