for some reason this post made me laugh
But I agree with you, the Big 10 has been vastly overrated for a while now but media personalities paint an entirely different picture.......shocking isn't it.....
not shocking to me. every year, osu and esp. michigan and wisconsin are ranked in the top 15 REGARDLESS of what they did the previous year.
michigan ALWAYS loses to someone in-conference and disappoints and wisconsin just never plays any hard opponents pre-conference. look at this year... the citadel, unlv, etc.

the TOUGHEST game wisconsin had last year WAS their bowl game against a young arkansas team that came on strong at the end. the stats from that game told me all i needed to know, but i'll admit: the only one that matters is the scoreboard.
btw, props to coach paterno for bringing in a prepared team to face tennessee and the village idiot fulmer. i actually like penn state MORE than tennessee until fulmer starts using his running backs INSTEAD of trying to MAKE a famous white boy qb.
You have to be shittin' me. That just doesn't sound right. Can anybody refute this?
again, one of those c-ships was TAKEN from the "u."
And that one is tainted because of the worst call in the history of college football.
co-sign. the ABSOLUTE worse call in history, and they KNOW IT!! but i hope you can now understand their desperation.
The purpose of this thread is to illustrate that the BIG 10 has managed to win only 3 national championships in 39 years. There is no conjecture in that. It's a fact.
You can't defend that.
So deal with it.
bowl game are just an end-of-the-year snapshot.
i'm MORE interested in TOUGH CONFERENCE PLAY every damn saturday like you get in the SEC. not the blowouts you see by usc and cal in the pac 10 or the blowouts you've seen this year by osu over northwestern, etc.
in the SEC, EVERY saturday is a dice roll. you come in flat and any given saturday could mean an ass whooping. sleep on kentucky or south carolina or even georgia.
my point about the SEC is as follows: there is tough competition top-to-bottom in conference play, and because of the CHAMPIONSHIP played at the end of the year, the champion of the SEC will usually have at least 1 loss and because of the loss, will be excluded from the nat'l championship considerations.
'
STOP THE SKATING IN THE BIG 10 AND PAC 10.
PLAY A TOUGHER OUT OF CONFERENCE SCHEDULE AND PLAY A CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP.
VOTE FOR A PLAYOFF SYSTEM IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL.
STOP BELIEVING THE MEDIA'S HYPE OF BIG 10 FOOTBALL. IT'S JUST THAT. HYPE.
