I nominate this pilot for the "Sully Sullenberger" award........

LOL, I wonder what the pilots of the big body jet waiting to take off were saying and thinking among themselves.

they wouldn't be worried about it... cross winds are much more trouble on landings
for take off they are free to increase power / thrust and retract flaps and landing gear as soon as they leave the ground

I know that but I was talking more about them watching a propeller plane been thrown around in a crosswind landing. It's easier to control in a jet but not in a small prop plane.

they were happy it wasn't them ... but its not easier for a jet, they are just as vulnerable to cross winds - the only real difference is the extra power of a jet.
for the last 1000' of decent planes have to stay on the edge of stalling and glide/ flying
they are unable to retract flaps and landing gear - unable to significantly increase power

What do you do in a prop plane when landing?

If I was a passenger... I wouldn't have said NOTHING! once we landed.. I would have walked right off that plane, straight to the men's bathroom in the terminal, and changed my damn drawers!! :eek:

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Why not divert to another Airport? that's ridiculous that they risked those people's lives like that. You don't attempt landing in those types of conditions
