Now that the clowning is outta the way.

I only buy shoes with leather uppers and if I can, from a reputable maker.

Here's a few from my closet

Add Chelsea boots in various colors in suede and smooth leather, and you should be in good shape for the fall and winter.
These are them Indiana Jones I teach archeology at a Midwestern university middle aged kicks.

Never owned a pair of wallabees. But I've had a ton of Clark's in my life. My favorite pair was the one that had the bubble on the side with the name and the sole were these bumps. They were like the Rasta standard way back. Clark's stopped making them.
Had two pairs for years that eventually worn out. My wife's doc has one that they made after, he wears them daily for many years, at least ten years every day, still look new. I always talk to him about them, and he's never changed them. They last and look brand new.

Have 3 pairs of Clark's dress shoes, comfortable as hell for all day wear.

This is the newer style off the original that they came out with but just were not the same just looked similar.

Where do you live? If you get bad weather your choices will be different.

I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for but check out allbirds. They have casual shoes that can be dressed up or down and they're comfortable like sneakers. Lots of colors too. Dunno if they have B&M but returns are free IIRC so order 2 and keep the one that fits.

Also Johnston & Murphy. They have B&M so you can try them to determine your size and go from there.

I'd encourage you to cop a pair of spectator (corespondents) shoes. Dress up or down and always stand out. You've gotta sport them with confidence tho or they won't work.

Good luck.

ps - check out someplace like Zappos where you can sort your preferences and get an idea of the type of shoe you want. you don't have to buy from them just use them to narrow your search

Born, Keen, Doc Martens is how I roll in my old age (50+) used to rock strictly Gym shoes in my younger days.

Most comfortable versatile shoe I’ve purchased in recent years.

Sadly, I don’t think they make them any longer.
