What you need is a softsynth. Nothing in that price range is going to be good for anything other than being a controller. Head over to the Producer's lounge. We've posted damn near everything out over there.
you need to buy a MIDI compatible keyboard and a MIDI interface for your computer. Pick out a softsynth and ask in the lounge or do a search for it to see if its already posted.
I'd suggest Reason but its a big ass download. There's hella stuff already posted, though. You just need a controller. there's no professional synth for $100 anywhere other than the back of someone's truck.

Pay a crackhead to steal you one.

I got the Yam-200 at Walmart for 99 dollars on sale. Sounds good for the price and my talent level. (not good) Also has headphone jack which I (and everybody within hearing distance of me) love. The stand will be extra, doesnt come with the 200. Nice imitation hammond like organ sounds too. After 1 year still looks new and no probs, keys still springy and no sign of key wear.

I still fuck with this joint right here cuz

yo thanks for the feedback. but i dont need anything to try and do any producing on. and i dont want to like do any heavy recording. i just need something real simple i need to learn a thing or two on it then im probably gonna give it to my niece once summer ends. basically (and most importantly) to learn on it and then if i wanted to record someone's progress just to record the simplest of things onto the computer.

as far as software for the pc im not worried about that. i know i can get my hands on just about anything software related

i just need the keyboard that can do ^^^^ that simple stuff

aight fam thanks i'll look into it. that might be what i need something simple. can you hook it up to your pc?

im still laughing at pay a crackhead

i've played piano for 10 years now..and i remember those days of searching

depends on what your trying to do...if your starting out playing piano..and want something to simple upgrade to later...go with a casio or yamaha

basic structures with keys and learning how to play..but for other methods as concerts and music abilities...not a good choice..

but..i would recommend a korg x5d ...im a korg guy..all i ever own is korg...

its simple..basic..and even has a midi connection....a good deal you can find around 300 or less range...easy upgrade as well...

Been playing piano/keyboard about 10 years - you would be better off with a full size keyboard fam
look for 61 keys ,MIDI compatible ,touch sensitive(very important)

try Casio or Yamaha
