I called myself browsing around the internet looking for information on organic foods cuz my mind really can't take that fact that these white folks is out here genectically engineering food like we some kinda chemistry lab class...anywayz check this article out.

Most will never see their families again.

“The beatings were a part of my life,” Aly Diabate, a freed slave (wtf....are u serious), told reporters. “Anytime they loaded you with bags (of cocoa beans) and you fell while carrying them, nobody helped you. Instead they beat you and beat you until you picked it up again.”

A 2001 inquiry into the cocoa sources used by 200 major chocolate manufacturers found significant differences between companies.

The $13 billion U.S. chocolate industry is heavily dominated by just two firms– Hershey’s and M&M Mars–who control two-thirds of the market. Unfortunately, both of these companies fall into the category of those companies who use large amounts of Ivory Coast cocoa, and whose products are almost certainly produced in part by slavery.

Peace,

The world is a mutha fucka!

I remember reading about that a few years ago. I have another story, but I don't have an article to back it up. Now imagine this...in 2002. I was in Brazil for Carnaval, and there was a huge story about this. A man had escaped from deep within the Amazon, made it back to a major city and reported he was an escaped slave (police were like yeah right.wtf?) Anyway he proceeded to take them out to the Amazon where they found a huge PLANTATION with thousands of slaves who were being held in captivity and doing forced labor. Can you believe that shit?

Do some research on conflict diamonds too.

i knew about the diamond thing from years back after seeing some pretty messed up documentaries on that stuff.

I just don't understand how major U.S. companies are allowed to do business like this, all the while imposing trade laws on countries they disagree with.

This reinforces the idea that black folks don't have a voice, either repulican or democrat since this shit has existed across many administrations...including clinton...the 'so called' first black president.

what would it take to end slavery of all kinds? what impact would it have on the world economy?
