I am totally embarrassed for Mike Vick

For those of you who get to watch Eagles games, I am embarrassed for Mike Vick. When Vick is in the game, Mike Vick only gets to hand the ball off. Andy Reid doesn't let him throw or even run much at all.

I am not saying that Vick is a great passer by any means, but he can complete passes (as shown in ATL). At one time Vick was the most electric play maker in the NFL. Now he has been reduced to QB who isn't allowed to run of throw. Come on Fat Andy, why the hell did you sign Vick if you aren't at least going to allow him to run.

I know Vick must be thinking I cant wait to get out of here.

1 hes getting paid
2 hes lucky to have a job
3 hes technically still kind of new to the team
4 they might be using him as a secret weapon, when they truely need his full potential. no reason to show your hand early.
5 you cantforget the hater laying in the mist

Micheal Vick doesn't have the same offensive line...in ATL they was prepared for him to run and the communication was on point.

Although Donovan can run he is more so a pocket passer.

It's allways good to see how much the other team is going to respect him even when he's taking snaps under center and handing them off.

If Vick could make an instant impact i think he'd be in right now but 2 years is a long as time.

Embarrassed for Mike Vick? Dude, you gotta process this thing in it's proper perspective. Mike Vick would have taken a water boy job to get back in the league. Prior to hiring him, the Eagles risks far outweighed the potential rewards by hiring him. Of course, now we know the risks are turning out to be less than the reward. But hindsight is 20/20. They're doing Vick a solid just having him on the field at all. If the next team he goes to does this, I may say agree it's an embarrassment. But the Eagles can't afford to undermine their star quarter back and established QB pecking order for a dude who will likely not be back next year (after his contract expires, that is), no matter how well he plays. Either way you look at it, Vick is winning. Had the Eagles not drafted him, he'd either be unhappily in the UFL or 'embarrassed' at home. Being a convicted felon, fresh outta jail, an excited new fan base, making over a million dollars for a fraction of the work you used to do is not embarrassing, cuz. If anything, Vick is winning. I'm more embarrassed for my bot TO on Buffalo than Vick on the Eagles.

:yes::cool:

Damn. I guess when you're a good team all you can do is complain about what Vick ain't doing. Man the day I feel embarassed for a NFL player is the day I become a billionaire. Especially a QB in a reserve spot that doesn't have to take the licks.

He came in the middle of preseason :dunno:

This is a learning year for him this year. Playing in Philly and taking a back seat role has taken the focus off his past troubles. He's getting his feet wet, and he's with a good team and coaches. Next year he'll probably be with a different team and more playing time. He could start for Oakland or Jacksonville.

Vick is the 3rd best QB on that team and that's AFTER they got rid of Garcia.

I wouldn't have let Vick run my offense BEFORE he went to jail...dude needs to tighten up his passing accuracy. Great arm...not good tactics in the pocket. Doesn't read defenses well...too quick to run. Etc, etc.

I'm sure that shit has been showing up in practice, which is why they won't let him throw. Vick is there to sell tickets...that is all. He was always a security blanket just in case Kolb faltered (which he didn't), and trade bait for a sucker, or a backup for Westbrook (in case he got hurt for the season or something).

The "wildcat" is an overused/overrated play in the NFL, especially if the back is not a threat to throw and you are keeping the QB on the field. The Dolphins are successful at it because Ronnie Brown WILL throw. So will LT for the Chargers...but those are only because you have to stack the box because they are running threats....Vick hasn't shown (or been able to show) the ability to run out of the backfield...so until he starts doing that OR they start letting him throw...it won't fool many defenses.

the eagles were up by 3 touchdowns or something. why would they throw the ball?

run out the clock and score the W. it's called mop up duty for a reason.

case closed.

Out of all the teams in the league, he signed with the first team to offer and the team that needed him the least. If he waited and had been patient, he would have got a better deal with a better opportunity to play. After preseason or 2 weeks, there are always teams that desperately need a qb. The PETA thing has died down now.

When you really need a job....you do what is necessary.....

LOL, so throwing for 300 against the worst team in football isn't faultering?? That Saints game got away from them because of his interceptions, Kolb is slightlt more solid there than Vick.

A. in the game yesterday when he had the chance to pass he pulled the ball down and ran (same old Vick)
B. Andy Reid is like an offensive genius so he isn't going to show what he fully has planned for Vick or the "wild Eagle" until they get into divisional games.

You are wrong... It has been said time and time again that Vick had multiple offers on the table from more than one team some paying more, but Dungy advised him to go to the Eagles because they were the most stable team offering. Dungy even said on yesterdays sunday night pregame that he advised Vick not to go to the Raiders. One of the teams offering a better deal were the Bengals who are now 4-1.

Ok...soooo...if Kolb is "slightly" more solid than Vick...doesn't that make him the THIRD QB option???? Riiiiigghhhtt.

Vick is there to sell tix ppl. It's a gimmick like TO is a gimmick in Buffalo.....It puts asses in seats and sells shoes for Nike..........

Note: Until McNabb is gone this is the way it will be for Mr. Vick.

Vick = secret weapon for the Eagles. Don't expect much bro. I can't wait for Fat Andy to unleash the beast. My prediction is you'll see how they intend to use him when we play Giants.:yes:

No one's buying tickets because of Vick. The Eagles have been sold-out for years.

Vick is NOT a 1st-string-quality QB. Especially now.

This thread sucks. OP you are holding on to the memories of Vick before prison. He just got back into the league during preseason. Obviously, anyone with a brain could figure out that this is a professional sport and that he isn't ready to control an offense (any offense for that matter) for an entire game.

Unlike others who are away from the league due to injury, Vick was totally away from the game. No film, no 7 on 7 drills, no playbook, no nothing other than strength training via weights and calisthenics. There is no way in hell he is ready after a month and a half to take the field, read defenses, know what play within the playbook to call on the fly to enhance the chances to make a big play, etc.

GTFOH........I guess this is the thing about fans. You are fans for a reason. You obviously don't fully understand the preparation necessary before they play on Sunday. Fans just think it's as easy as picking up the football with your boys and running a few routes in the park at a family cookout:hmm:

No disrespect, but it is statements and rational of the OP and people like him, why Daniel Snyder thought he could bring his money to the NFL and own a team and be successful. Knowing nothing about the game, we see his situation in Washington. As long as he is picking up players based on "their name", he will never build chemistry on that team and they will suck...........just like this thread!!

Why would there be a controversy?? One player is a Hall of Famer and the other is a scrub, struggling to stay in the league.

Please elaborate on what makes you think he can start for Jacksonville? What has Vick shown you so far that he can start for Jax?
