I'll be honest with y'all. I've attended a lot of small business classes and been to a lot of small business social events. Everyone has told me that a business plan does not make or break your business. That most small businesses do not start with a business plan but develop one down the line when they are seeking bank loans. So don't let the lack of a business plan deter you from starting a business.
maybe this is why about half of the new businesses that start fail in less than 2 years...
Good drop! I think a business plan is very important b/c we did one in class while I was in college. We went to banks to check on loan rates and types, we called similar businesses and asked them about their utility prices, and we forecasted how much each product would need to sell for us to make a profit. We put so much work into it that our professor used it as an example for the next semester. It was a good learning experience that most people probably overlook.
Just look at it like this, do engineers start building a bridge or tunnel without having a plan? So why start a business without plan? The same rules apply. You build a bridge step by step and you do the same for a business.
