How to start a trucking company

I don’t know shit about trucking...but I do know there’s mad bread in it
Last year around this time, my boy was broke and depressed. He went to trucking school and somehow financed his own truck

On Black Friday he called me up and broke down in tears (of joy?). He bought a 70 inch tv like it was nothing and realized that he was financially free. He’s in a completely new space. He’s about to get married, he’s about to move into a new place. There was a hurricane a few months ago and he had to make a delivery afterwards. Nigga made $11K for 9 days of work

thanks for the info...

there's a lot of jobs...like trucking...that are not considered 'cool' jobs...but are extremely necessary....where there's gonna be severe shortages in the upcoming years...

One of my best friends owns a trucking company. It's not what it was before 2009. He lost his house and half his fleet in 2009. He's just now recovering. The big three don't pay like they did and finding drivers is hard. He still in it to win it tho.

I drive OTR, but I’m a company driver.

That $11k ain’t a lot of money when you own a truck.

Majority of that money goes back into the truck for truck payments, insurance, permits, taxes, tolls, weight stations, lumper ( companies that load/offload freight), fuel and other miscellaneous expenses.

And you have to put some away for breakdowns, hotels and other unexpected shit.

That $11k he made, he probably pocketed about $2k.

You do make good money owning your truck, the thing is that beast sucks up your money.

Yeah ... the industry is mad lucrative ... If you're not an owner/operator, then the only headache is keeping a "good" driver. Everybody can drive. But having a "good" driver is key. And keeping a driver is BIG!!! If your driver gets offered 2 cents more a mile, he's more than likely gonna jump unless you're taking care by giving them incentives. I have a truck leased to a broker... Last year, after all was said and done with business expenses...the truck made 39K
