How To LEGALLY Repair Your Credit!!

How to Deal with Telemarketers

1. If they want to loan you money, tell them you just filed for bankruptcy and you could sure use some money. Ask, "How long can I keep it? Do I have to ever pay it back, or is it like the other money I borrowed before my bankruptcy?"

2. If they start out with, "How are you today?" say, "Why do you want to know?" Or you can say, "I'm so glad you asked, because no one seems
to care these days and I have all these problems, my sciatica is acting up, my eyelashes are sore, my dog just died . . ." When they try to get back to the sales process, just continue on with telling about your problems.

3. If the person says he's Joe Doe from the XYZ Company, ask him to spell his name, then ask him to spell the company name, then ask where it is located. Continue asking personal questions or questions about the company for as long as necessary.

4. This one works better if you are male: Telemarketer: "Hi, my name is Judy and I'm with Canter and Siegel services....
You: "Hang on a second." (few seconds pause) "Okay, (in a really husky voice) what are
you wearing?"

5. Crying out, in well-simulated tones of pleasure and surprise, "Judy!! Is this really you? I can't believe it! Judy, how have you
BEEN?" Hopefully, this will give Judy a few brief moments of terror as she tries to figure out where the heck she could know you from.

6. Say, "No," over and over. Be sure to vary the sound of each no, and keep an even tempo even as they're trying to speak. This is the most fun if you can keep going until they hang up.

7. If MCI calls trying to get you to sign up with their Family and Friends plan, reply, in as sinister a voice as you can muster, "I don't have any friends . . . would you be my friend?"

8. If they clean rugs: "Can you get blood out, you can? Well, how about goat blood or HUMAN blood - chicken blood too?"

9. Let the person go through their spiel, providing minimal but necessary feedback in the form of an occasional "Uh-huh, really, or, "That's fascinating." Finally, when they ask you to buy, ask them to marry you. They get all flustered, but just tell them you couldn't give your credit card number to someone who's a complete stranger.

10. Tell them you work for the same company they work for.
Example: Telemarketer: "This is Bill from Watertronics."
You: "Watertronics!! Hey I work for them too. Where are you calling from?"
Telemarketer: "Uh, Dallas, Texas." You: "Great, they have a group there too? How's business/the weather? Too bad the company has a policy against selling to employees! Oh well, see ya."

11. Tell the Telemarketer you are busy and if they will give you their phone number you will call them back. If they say they are not allowed to give out their number, then ask them for their home number and tell them you will call them at home (this is usually the most effective method of getting rid of Telemarketers). If the person says, "Well, I don't really want to get a call at home," say, "Yeah! Now you know how I feel." (smiling, of course...)

I don't know if going directly to equifax will work, but I know the other methods (writing them and telling them to provide signed contracts, blah blah blah or take it off doesn't work).

Tried that, shit was a waste of time and money. First I contacted them certified mail (wasted like $4) requesting either the signed contract which I knew they didn't have cause I never signed one. After they replied with b.s. but no contract I called and tried to get it removed. They wouldn't do it. Contacted the attorney generals office and every other place I was told to. Long story short, in the end they said their role is to just play a mediator, they can't make them take it off. They advised me to take them to small claims court. If they didn't show or showed without contract I'd win. Big ass fucking hassle.

That honestly wasn't my bill. To real debt though I'd say the best method to getting rid of it is to pay your fuckin bills though like the others said.

This was posted before but i would like to know if anyone has ever done it? It sounds good but does it really work?
It works in more ways than you know... from time to time, I need to adjust my score power up or down depending upon the objective... the burden of proof is on the creditor, not you... if they don't respond properly in 30 days, the entry must be removed... so it was written, so shall it be.

Whether its true or not, I will definitely be taking a closer look at this information. This may prove very useful.

Another thing I been hearin as well is to try to get your old addresses removed first before you do your disputes...holla!

In my opinion and experience these are the best things you can do to repair and maintain your credit

1. Check All reports at least once a year

2. Dispute any information that is inaccurate (this includes names used, addresses, and employment). Remember to check for duplicate accounts

3. Pay your bills on time and if you cant call the creditor to make arrangements.

4 Payment in full is way better then Settlement in Full. If you can pay the debt in full, work out an agreement to have the info removed if you pay the debt in full (remember to get it in writing). Do not take a collection agents word, writing means everything. As a former collection agent I would remove the collection account if a debtor paid in full or close to it in a timely manner. If they say they cant remove it they are either lying or don’t know they can, ask to speak with a supervisor.

5. Open a secured credit card FROM YOUR BANK. Most banks report secured credit cards as unsecured cards. Open accounts with a high percentage of available credit builds up your credit. Try to start with $500. Use the card once or twice a month and pay the bill in full before the grace period. The interest rates will be high, so remember to pay off the card. After about 6-8 months of good payment history most lenders will give your deposit back and increase your limit. Having open accounts is very important especially when you want apply for large credit items such as cars or home loans.

6. Inquiries kill your score, remember only apply for consumer credit if you know you have a good shot at getting it or if it is a absolute must. When it comes to shopping for things such as a mortgage or car loan you can shop around because it will only count once. For example if I go to 5 mortgage brokers and they all pull credit within 30 days it will only be one inquiry.

7. If you expect that someone has been using or trying to use your credit or if you don’t recognize inquiries on your report put a fraud alert on your account. Your can do this for free online. You will have to add a phone number that creditors will call to verify whenever they pull your credit.

The bureaus are coming out with a new "FICO" score called a Vantage score. Essentially all of them will use the same model of scoring, the only difference will be based on what is in their records. So you could have a higher score w/ Equifax if they don't have negatives, versus Experian or TransUnion who might have some negatives, and vice versa three ways. Stay tuned to the news about this new change and how it will impact us.

This is by far the best thread I have ever read in regards to this type of situation. I have done what most of the people on this thread have suggested and it DOES work. I have had a bankruptcy, defaulted student loans and various debts. By opening up disputes with the credit agencies, I was able to remove 7 negative items from my reports.

Student loans => The best you can do is try and make a payment plan with the lender. The Government will get their money.

You do not have to go to a credit repair place. They are a rip off and can make your credit worse.

Don't sweat the bankruptcy, Lenders stop really holding that against you after 2 - 3 years. Definitely open a secured credit card account and only use half of the credit limit. Make the payments on time and do not close the account. That account will be your first step to re-establishing your credit. Remember, lenders want to give you the money because they want the principal and interest from the transaction.

One last thing, I would suggest pulling your reports once every quarter or every 6 months. INMO if you wait longer, you might set yourself up for for a fall. Also make sure to contact the big 3 and have them not accept any inquires except with your authorization. This will stop those pesky Capital one card letters and other credit card mailer that we all receive.

Peace,
BMACE ;)

i did an online dispute on 4 different items and 3 came off. and this was with Experian

Best way to repair your credit....PAY YOUR FUCKIN BILLS! Name one nigga that did this shit and it worked just one! Nigga my girl work for Experian, them niggas check to high hella and back to verify a debt, you wish it was that fuckin easy. You got to have documentation than a mofo before anything comes falling off, and 9.9/10 unless its identity theft , you will end up paying them shits cuz now that you done sent Equifax your new address the old collectors know how to find that ass now.

Ok this process works. I have had a credit card chargeoff and seceral other negative items removed.

This is unfortunate - it does speak to folks ignorance even those who are as close as you are to the system... DISPUTES WORK at 100% whether you have good or bad credit - if the responsible company doesn't respond in 30 days you're in the clear; sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. If you understand how to work the system you can control it instead of it controlling you. Only people who don't have a clue try to maintain perfect credit by paying all their bills on time - you need to learn how to manage your credit score to get what you need at that particular time plus maximize the amount of cash on hand.

Good luck

i dont have alot of negative stuff on my report, matter of fact my score is around 739 but at the advice of my realtor i have tried this so far with one of the big three and it does work. in my case i was able to get like three old accounts of minds removed from my credit report. so yes it does work but you must do it with all three. experian, equifax, and transunion.

It works i did before I bought my 1st house ~ I was kinda weary that it wouldnt work but it did.
They have 30 days to reply to your dispute, if not it has to be removed form your credit report. Best month to do this is December when everyone is preparing for X~mas and not focused on being in the office.

Sorry for referring to you as (Hater Slave)

~I Think Therefore I Am~

i got a question...i broke up with my girl a couple of months back but since june of 05 she been goin to bally's and stopped goin around aug of 05 cuz she moved anyway i co-signed for her and now that shit on my credit which i just seen last week...what do i do? call bally and tell em to cancel the membership or does she have to do it? because we dont even talk anymore. am i still responsible for this?

You dont want to file the dispute online because it gives the credit reporting agency more time to prove that the item is yours. Its more time consuming but write the letters and do it that way. Everything that I had in collections is gone
