just be a good liar..you should be fine
its all about being the hometown hero (with good cause)...be the president of ur block...ur hood...ur borough...ur city etc etc etc
Put some time in volunteering in a charity in your area for exposure and to have a public record. Go to your local town hall meetings and meet the politicians.
Find a political mentor by becoming a worker in their office. After you've put in some work, reciprocity results. If they like you, they'll help you with their experience.
