When the store was bankrupt they just burned it down for insurance money.

Yes...i work for a grocery chain..and they worked some shit out, but some decisions they made we didnt like..such as selling our land back to the village, but they used the money to pay down the debt and made many upgraded improvements to our facility which were needed.

In this instance yes, they accomplished exactly what they wanted. Private equity AKA vulture capitalist goal is to aquire bussinesses and sell the assets for profit. Their goal isn't to save companies.
