How is Covid still affecting our society today?

Not the disease, but the experience of the pandemic?

This idea of a generational dividing line for young adults is interesting…

Obviously no entire generation is filled with people who are entirely the same and the COVID divide in Gen Z speaks to that…

But if you break it down into smaller more coherent and cohesive segments, there’s a lot to learn from how big cultural moments affected people at a certain stage of life at the time of an event.

Certain areas of ny that had a bunch of lounges and clubs and a booming nightlife no longer exist cause lots of those places were forced to be shutdown for over 17 months due to Covid regulations and fears.. those places were still charging rent to the owners during that period.. well many owners couldn’t afford to pay 17 months worth of rent and not making a single penny during that duration.. so many of those places are closed for good.. so certain blocks that might had 4 or more lounges/clubs on them are now completely dead.. since rent went up on everything lot of individuals aren’t coming through to buy those vacant spots to reopen them.. so it’s a ghost town in certain places or limited traffic.. these things also messed with other biz like eateries, stores, food trucks that might been in those areas making money due to the nightlife foot traffic… so some of those things have closed or relocated due to lack of bizz.. than you had people like uber/lyft and cab drivers that would make shitloads of money off them party goers with drop offs and pickups to them places.. hell certain places would literally have a bunch of cabs outside cause they knew a lot of party goers would come out and flag them down.. they’d drop off a person than quickly comeback to pick someone else up.. now since those spots no longer exist less money for the drivers.. also some of these places would have a police presence, few cars hanging outside basically making sure shit was good inside and outside.. pretty much easy money for the cops and also ot for some.. now that them places are gone less easy work and probably less ot.. so this is just 1 of the things Covid fucked up and still have long lasting effects till this day

Yes, I had a guy I worked with died last year from complications of COVID-19. He was on an oxygen tank during the beginning of the Covid outbreak he thought he had beat it

When Israel started genocide Palestine I said to myself. Covid cured to use something else to kill with. Maybe not cured but America and Israel decided on other ways of speeding up Hitler's dream.

The biggest and saddest effect is a huge portion of our population are now "informed" through YouTube videos, podcasters, and TikTok. Any dumbass with at least mediocre production efforts and absolutely no education has a good 15-25% of people feeling bold and confident in their ignorance.
