At her age she should know how to put on make up. Is she only wearing it for you. Or does she routinely put on messed up makeup?
Beats the hell out of me. If it ain't lip gloss or nail polish I don't touch it.
Got a friend that wears makeup? Maybe you can get the two of them together somehow. Just be careful ol' girl might catch on.

I dont know how to put on makeup..... dont care to know either.... no one i know uses anything beyond mascara n eyeshadow
Take her to Sephora. It's a cosmetics store that sells fragrances, makeup, skin products, etc. They sell a lot of the makeup lines so it's really convenient. I hardly wear make up but when I do I wear Bare Escentuals. It's a natural kind of makeup that is supposed to be better for your skin than regular makeup. It feels really light on your skin and the make set comes with a DVD on how to use it. Maybe you can buy it for her as a gift. . .
I also wear MAC. I love their eye shadow and lip glass.

whatever you do do NOT take her to the department store to Fashion Fair...they will have her leaving worse off than how she got there

when u get there have them teach her a few looks that works with her skintone and dressing style (like a daytime and evening look)...then buy her the make up

Ummm...before you just take her somewhere to get made over, you should probably talk to her about it. Has she mentioned that she would like to learn more about makeup? Maybe she thinks her makeup is on point and doesn't see a problem? Assuming this is what she wants, she should go to Sephora or MAC. They have professionals that can hook her up.

She is fresh out of a marriage where her hubby never let her go out or anything.She is new to dressing up and wearing makeup.Basically I've helped her regain some self esteem and feel sexy again.She really values my opinions and follows my instructions to the T whenever I give her some.Ive helped her get a new style(which she is digging).But her makeup application definatly needs work.I was thinking of hooking her up with a female friend,but figured that would be awkward and embarassing for her,but this Sephora idea seems good.I'll word it in a way of getting new advice from a professional that she could ADD rather than saying she needs help and having her go to some random fly chick.

the key to good makeup is a good foundation
u can spot a woman wearing a bad foundaiton miles away...her face will look chalky...redish (or orangish) and cakey (if its a liquid foundation)
ive found that MAC foundations work really well and are very natural (bare minerals aren bad..ive tried them...but i really like MAC better)

For one she wears red lipstick.That bright red shit that crackas wear.For two,her foundation be a lil off.Im used to fly chicks that know how to put on makeup to accent their already fly features.This chick is cute, but I want her her get to the next level.Making this chick extra fly is like a side project of mine.
Her complexion? Is she light, brown or chocolate like me? The reason I ask is because then I can give you specifics. For instance MAC has all colors but their foundation can make a sister my complexion look ashy. So I use Iman. As far as lipsticks some sistas can wear reds...But it has to be the right shade. I posted a pic of me from today in the wigs and weave thread, that may help on figuring her complexion. I dabble w/ makeup artistry so I can help.

I gave up on wearing makeup due to this same issue. I could never find a good match for my skin tone. I'm used to not wearing makeup now, but when I was in high-school I would go to the mall and have a consult with the "makeup artist" there
. By the time I left I'd be looking like I'd seen a ghost.

I used to be a freelance make up artist and I worked for Sephora, if you take her to Sephora or MAC they will give her a make up demo and let her know what colors are good for her skin tone, everyday wear, night wear etc...
