How do I get a prepaid debit card?

listen, im not even tryna be funny or anything ... but if I was you, i would pay off whatever bank you owe money too (its obvious u cant get a real bank debit card or even a credit card cuz ur credit is hurt, cuz if it wasnt, u wouldnt be lookin to get one of these bs pre paid) so that that bank can take you off that list that banks check to see if they should give u an account with them (they check to see if u owe any money to banks) i learned right when i turned 18 that u cant fuck with banks and they money, that will fuck up ur whole life (credit wise) Credit is everything in life and i would clean that shit up asap. so fuck spending money on a debit card and use that money to pay off the bank you owe ...

You can't rent a car using Debit, pre-paid or those Visa/AMEX "gift" cards.

Get a secure bank credit card. Helps to strengthen your credit (provide you're not a dumbass ) and you can have all the benefits of a credit card without giving back your money in fees and bullshit charges.

They come up with more & more ways to separate Black folks from their money.

Actually I've rented from Enterprise using one. I had to put a large deposit though.

Unless your credit is just JACKED, what's so hard about getting a REAL credit card, preferably one that gives you points, cash back, or both, using it and paying off the balance IN FULL at the end of every month?

Personally, I use an American Express and Chase Freedom Visa for almost everything, the American Express b/c of the excellent customer service and extended warranty protection, and the Chase Freedom b/c you get 3% cash back on gas, groceries and quick foods (Starbucks, etc) and 1% on everything else. Recently, they just started with 3.75% cash back for paying cable, internet and other bills online with the card.

NOW, if you are doing dirt and need to it to be as untraceable as possible (like dude above whose homeboy has the sidepiece) they the prepaid makes sense, but otherwise, I don't know. But good thread for those who need the info.

If you use your bank debit as a credit transaction you won't get charge a fee. But some places (walmart) won't let you use you debit card as a credit transaction to pay your bill, you have to use debit. Also you can withdraw cash from the register when you use your Debit card. I have 3 Debit cards from 3 different banks and like 10 credit cards. I hardly carry around cash.

Depends on the location

In Atlanta I always had no problems using it at the Airport. I think it was Dollar or Budget. Something with yellow in the logo.
