I worked some jobs that in my opinion are pretty bad and not many people respect so I wanna leave them off the resume, the thing is, how do I fill the gap and explain it in the resume?

you could leave them off and say you worked for your family in that ime period.

you dont, just explain on your resume that there was no room for growth or some bullshit as the reason why u left

Put down a company in your area that went out of business. Who they going to call for a reference? Nobody there no more. Recession.

Self employment. Put on your resume that you started your own business. Then list the job functions you had.

I stopped putting dates (months, years) on my resume. Fuck it. I just list the jobs that I have, leave out the ones that I don't want on there. Or just put more highlights on the jobs I want noticed.

Do they check graduation dates as well?

In other words your job performance sucked at those jobs. You probably got fired from them and thats why you want to leave them out. Employers aren't offended at someone doing a low-end job. If anything it shows them you are serious about work and you have humility. Nobody is going to deny you a job because you took a job cleaning toilets or McDonalds. :hmm:

I never worked at mickey d's but trust me put mickey d's on your resume and see where that gets you?

Keep on telling yourself that... employers won't fuck with you if you worked shit jobs in the past, best to leave them off....

This is America, that righteous cac talk is all smoke and mirrors.

this is fine if you're just applying at Target or Hooters but if you trying to get a real job where you can see yourself retiring from it's best to tell the truth because if you get hired and it's soon discovered you lied on your application/resume your ass is out the door no questions asked.

Dude, if you've been working decent jobs, and had a one or 2 crummy jobs in between because you got laid off or whatever, an employer will not hold that against you. However, if your only jobs were McDonalds and you're applying for V.P. of Microsoft, you have a problem.

Your theory about only writing down your most flattering jobs on your resume is a bit silly. Bosses want to see that you're willing to do whatever job, and whatever it takes. Once again, it shows character if in 2003 you were the district manager of a company, got laid off, and took a janitor job in the meantime to support your family.

What would they rather see, you were a janitor, or you were a black woman who resorts to welfare the minute shit gets rough?
