They might be headed to NBA finals this comong season. Their Roster is deep and I hear they might pick up Mutombo for back up in case anything happens to Yao. Check this roster..

ron artest/Joey Dorsey
Tracy mcgrady/brent barry/
Shane battier/ Carl Landry
Rafer Alston/Steve Francis

Mutombo and chuck hayes.


Are they contenders or will be a bust this season ??
 
my question is do they have a back up center, cause deke is not on that roster as of the last time i checked. but yeah the team is nasty this year.

Scola can play centre, but t was reported they will get Mutombo for back up though. Just hope mcgrady stays helathy.
 
Hopefully Artest will allow McGrady to take a couple extra minutes of rest each game so he's not taxed come playoff time. The Rockets are not my team, but it's fucking sad watching this team get to the first round and be done. Hopefully they'll do better this year.
 
that's a pretty brittle pair of PGs you have listed.

but if the whole squad stays healthy, i don't see why they couldn't make a 2nd round run.
 
Hard to tell if Yao will remain healthy. We already know Shane is not. Tracy is also declining in his scoring.

To hard to say currently. Lakers/Hornets are faves in my book.
 
are shane and artest both starting? who's their PF? i think they get to the second round this year. They will probably play the Suns or Dallas.
 
They looked pretty good vs. the Mavs last night! I see second-round this year..... Too bad the Celtics will repeat!!

Depends on who they see in the first round, because I'm not impressed with their depth and other than Yao they aren't that big in the front court. They do have good perimeter defenders in Battier and Artest, but Yao is not the type that can erase their mistakes is the offensive player gets by them.

I can't see them getting past:

Lakers
Spurs
Hornets

and Portland has a tall, deep athletic squad that would give them problems.
