housewives

For me? And it may sound off putting to people but i don't care. It was how happy my husband was. If and when he left the house, did he want to come back to the home? To me? When he left the house and bring back the amassed fortunes he made whilst out conquering neighboring territories....How glad was he to come home and see me? His family? And when he did was he happy and satisfied with it.

But ya know...a bisexual crazy lady who's open minded to different things and accepting of others doesn't know what she's talking about. So most folks should do the exact OPPOSITE of what i wrote there.

There is only room for one sarcastic, condescending asshole on this board. I've cornered the market. Find your own gimmick.
I will report you to a mod for gimmick infringement.

Is the house clean?

Is food cooked?

Is sex served?

Kids not complaining?

Good job.

How is the success of a housewife (with kids to take care of) measured?
Lots of ways. A clean and well-oiled home. Children are not spoiled and well-behaved, well-groomed. Cooks healthy meals for the family. Stays attractive. Has sex well and often. A discilpinarian (i.e. does not defer to her husband to discipline the children). And lastly, intelligent and educated (not the same). A dumb woman can not make a good housewife nor can she teach the kids anything other than domestic chores.

So if she spends all her time at home, is her success with the children measured by the children's career (future engineers, doctors, etc). I ask because I noticed some housewives raised some real dumb kids who went on to make 40k in social work careers and I thought about the investment of the housewives' time with these kids, so this question popped into my head.

no, not by the career. but that the kids are good people who can fend for themselves.

for some reason, i cant accept that as the full answer. How can housewives spend so much time at home (while forgoing a salary) and raise someone who makes 40k on average, which is basically an economic failure(even if they are good people who can fend for themselves)?

For all the effort, energy, time and money, that is such a low "payoff." Maybe I'm looking at this in the wrong light or something.

So you view success in terms of money earned?

No, but the end result does not justify the resources invested. I'm sure that boy couldve grown up to be a social worker without a stay-at-home mom.

You say no...but then you keep talking about resources and career path.

I think social work is probably 1 of the most rewarding professions a person can get involved in. A good mother instills, should help instill those desires to help others and give back to soceity.

it's not about the salary earned. besides if you live within your means and save, $40,000 is plenty. There are people who make millions in a year who are a detriment to society, so are you saying that their mothers did a better job raising them than the social worker's mother?

P.S. I know social workers making double that, especially when they have an MSW. but I also know scientists making $40,000.

You can't put a price tag on the value of stay at home moms. I bet the mothers of these girls leave the home to work:

I think people under-rate or look down at stay at home moms, but i say if your husband makes enough and you both agree to it, do it. Or at least if one of your mother's is close by, let the children stay with a relative instead of being latchkey kids or going to daycare

People always have. Undervalued women period. In these types of civilizations motherhood has always been undervalued. Devalued. It's key to understand that in many ways people don't value personality. They don't value the intangibles. All the things that stay at home mothers do for the health and balance of their children.

You can't put a value on the security and mental stablity your child has by knowing mom is at home taking care of the house. We even home schooled our kids to give them what WE felt was that extra boost in education, as well as support and stability.
