My point is, the media has slowly phased out darker-skinned Blacks, for bright-skinned, half breeds, with curly hair.
I think light-skinned, half Black women,with curly hair, can be very beautiful - but, I don't like how we've been phased out in the media. Pay attention to magazines and commercials more...

You preaching to mostly blind to the fact crowd here. They think everything is fine if its anything Red/light/caramel but anything other than Chocolate. The media has made dark skin people look like a rare condition except when it comes to criminal behavior in the news and in TV/Film.

My first post in this thread was in response to what they correctly pointed to the fact that the media is weeding out people of darker complexion. Secondly nobody here was berating the young lady let alone on her give accolades based on her skin tone. I closed the response with the girl is a cutie.
And in what way is she more African than I? I am a direct decendant of the Maroons of JAMAICA who fought for their freedom. So I very much have African blood in my veins. The point was that the media as a whole has a aversion to true AFRICAN traits. We like to pick and choose.
My Dark Brown SKIN is a dominant trait.
My Dark Brown BROWN EYES are a dominant trait
My Curly Dark Curly Hair is a dominant trait.
These three traits alone have constantly been made a negative by society at large. You seem to subscribe to the the more mixed I look as a black person the more acceptable you are.
Bottomline is I accept anybody no matter what race color or creed. But you cannot tell me that there isn't a bias against dark skinned people. Its so fucking common that its now accepted around this bitch.
