Honestly, if you ran a music label, would you sign him?

Don't ask me how I got to this on youtube. Searching for something has a funny way of running you across something you had no business pulling up and no intentions of viewing. However, this may have been worth my time.

This is a 47 year old rapper from Philly. I am posting to spark a discussion on the pros and cons of him still rapping on the streets, all the way to debating his talent worthiness as a stablemate at any of the major labels, or an indie, in this current music market...if you know what I mean.

I'm just curious. Humor me. In my opinion, at the very least, he's nice. Maybe not marketable, but nice.

No I wouldn't sign him to a deal unless he had a crazy buzz on the street, was a standup dude and had some type of rep on the streets.Put em down with the team and let him get money from the industry in other ways if rap thing doesn't workout(probably wont).

He wouldn't be marketable to a young crowd. The people running past him. That younger crowd might not know who Lutha is.
He sounds like one of the older pastors having trouble catching their breathe.

1979 You need to let it go. He would be better being a plummer. He'll make more money than being Mc Old Head on myspace.

Any Philly artist would body this guy lyrically. Freeway, Beans, Gillie, Peedi Crack anybody.

34real, you made good points.

Interesting, interesting. Time has possibly passed him by. He said he has been writing since '79. I am stepping out on a limb to say, if he can get his publishing together, he can make some younger cat shine.

Hell, I just learned that Da Brat used to write for Bow Wow...I was like "wow" if that was true.

HELL NO i wouldnt sign this old ass nigga.

Otis, all I can say is, minus production, he sounds better than 85 percent of the industry.

Still no one has said could this ninja get his publishing and do some ghost writing. He been writin' since '79.

I see you Dr. Truth. He mentions ya boi in the vid.
