If you have a 42", or larger, digital television and a nice receiver with surround sound what do you plug it all into--i.e., what kind of surge protectors and/or battery backup system are you using?
I don't own a home theater... or even a television for that matter. However, I run my computers, guitar amps and whatnot through APC Back-UPS Pro 100 uninterruptable power supplies.
It not only protects against surges, it also protects against drops in voltage and warns of bad grounds and so forth.
If you dropped a nice chunk of change on your home theater, you might want to consider something better than a simple surge protector.
I have two systems in my home, both with Rotel amps and processors...so I use a Rotel surge protector/voltage regulator in both.
It's made by APC for Rotel.

Thanks. I'm researching that now.
That APC unit he is speaking of is excellent...because of the quality and the price.
Monster on the other hand,is twice as costly...they want you to buy a power conditioner, then another voltage regulator.
The APC/Rotel is all in one...
