Speakers

http://www.digitaltrends.com/speaker-reviews/goldenear-technology-triton-one-review/

GoldenEar Technology threw the book at the Triton One, and it shows by what’s under the hood. At the top of the speaker are two 5.25-inch drivers which handle the upper bass and midrange frequencies, and sandwiched in between them (in what speaker geeks know as a D’Appolito array) is GoldenEar’s outstanding High-Velocity folded ribbon tweeter. But the real fun is the arsenal that takes care of the bass frequencies.

The lower half of each speaker is all about that bass … literally. The party starts with a built 1,600-watt amplifier – that’s 3,200 watts of amplification dedicated to filling your room with glorious low end. All that power is channeled to six 5 x 9-inch bass drivers, three in each speaker. Hold on a second, we’re not done yet: Coupled to those 5×9-inch drivers are a total of eight 7 x 10-inch passive radiators, four in each speaker, all in a sealed cabinet independent of the upper portion of the speaker. Are you drooling yet? Because if you aren’t, you might want to check your pulse.

VOLTAGE REGULATION
Improve system performance and prolong equipment life by providing a consistent level of optimal power to your equipment.
IMPROVES PICTURE AND SOUND QUALITY
Level 4+ Power Cleaning and Filtration eliminates common symptoms of contaminated power (including loss of detail, pops, hisses, hums and visual artifacts) and allows your A/V equipment to perform up to its full capability.

MONITORS INCOMING LINE VOLTAGE AND PROVIDES A VISUAL INDICATION OF POWER LEVEL
Panamax’s patent pending AVM™ circuitry continuously monitors the incoming power as displayed on the digital voltmeter. In case of an undervoltage or an overvoltage, a flashing lightning bolt will be displayed in red in the voltmeter, and power to the connected equipment is automatically turned off if either of these conditions is detected. When voltage returns to a safe level, power to the equipment is automatically reconnected.

REDUCES CROSS-CONTAMINATION BETWEEN COMPONENTS
The M5400-PM is designed to provide noise isolation between 5 isolated outlet banks including 2 high current outlets so that any noise created by an A/V component can not contaminate the power going to equipment plugged into another outlet bank.

far better than what I have...I can only offer advice for a "poor man's" setup

Thanks fam . How about audio cables? Its my first go round. I walked into a home theater store today. It was my first listen to the Triton one's paired with the Parasound amp.

idk specifically what you're looking for re: audio cables...I can suggest using monoprice.com good quality great price as stores try very hard to upsell you on that shit tryna to act like sound quality will be compromised...again tho the quality suits my needs...maybe there might be a compromise in sound quality if you use certain audio cables w/ high end equipment

:dunno:

Pick a screen/display/projector first. 4K is a waste of cash right now,
Then source unit, HTPC, Blueray, etc.
Seating is third.
Audio comes last, because what you need and where it's going to be positioned is dependent on the first 3.
Plus the audio components are the ones that are most likely going to "evolve over time".
And don't put the popcorn maker in the theater room. Sounds like a great idea, but as soon as you burn a batch, you're not going to want to sit in that room until the smell is gone.

Honestly college football basketball etc is coming. My family and friends are movie and music heads. I have The Temptations, Sade, Stevie Wonder for my older relatives I heard Monster cables are a scam. I know that I must have the Hdmi 2.0 cables for my t.v.

What are you going with to "create" the sound? A Home theater receiver? If so which one? Will you have Atmos capabilities? Which Atmos speakers will you use? Don't get a tv, get a projector! What kind of seating? How big is the room? You need a consultant.

Monster cables are indeed a scam. For that matter, so are HDMI 2.0 cables. There is technically no such thing as an HDMI 2.0 cable. HDMI 2.0 operates perfectly through standard HDMI cables with no issues. If it doesn't, its because the cables you're using aren't a good enough quality for HDMI 1.4. Your cables should be Category 2, which is the same kind we've been using since HDMI 1.4

My actual theater room I'm looking to either build my next home or tear down and rebuild in my next house. I'm looking at a home theater seats . I have a big family. I'm hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. What I posted is what I will purchase before Thanksgiving gets here. I don't have the dimensions of the room just yet. That is what I'm building towards . I want to have sound panels to bring in an acoustic treatment. The Atmos setup I'm listening to that set-up after work tomorrow.

I'm getting a 4k tv for everyday use. What projector would you recommend?

A/V unit with dual HDMI outputs is a plus.

Try to look at the On-screen menu before you buy it. Doesn't seem like that big of a deal till you struggle with trying to set it up.

One thing I learned the hard way is read the reviews and many as you can find. Yeah some folks can't plug in a light bulb but some will hit home on what's good and bad about the features that are important to you.

thanks I will do my homework. I'm making sure its easy for them. I don't need my relatives fucking with my shit.

I got the poors mans set up too, until I move into my house:lol:

Shit I thought I was getting the poor brotha deal. Old boy at the store said they outfit college President's homes and shit. He said my setup was at the top of the bottom.

They took me to the back room for shits and giggles. :smh: Damn McIntosh setup was on some year 3036 type shit. I heard every damn thing from that damn Dark Knight and Iron Man movies. I heard things so clear I didn't understand was possible. :puke: It hit me I need to get adopted Pool boy, kept man etc.

An older brotha gave me a pound and said welcome to the life changing club. He was coming in and buying some speaker studs.

The cabling outside the equipment should not be given more thought that the wiring inside the equipment. Equipment makers use whatever, so should you.

This is where I get most of my info from.
Most people on there are always willing to help and give advice.
Met a guy in the projector forum a few years ago who actually invited the wife and I over to his house for a demo on his projector.
We stayed over there for an hour talking about movies, lighting and sound

Thanks fam. My salesman today is a member over there. Dudes yawned my ass out the door . I thought I was doing something with my speakers and my Mutli Channel Amp. I'm a small fish in a huge ocean in this audio game McIntosh :smh:  It wasn't the price it was the quality I thought I hit the damn jackpot until they took me in the back room to hear the wealthy folk shit.

I'm not as into A/V as I use to be...

I have two good set-ups at home, old but solid....Rotel amps and Paradigm speakers and subs in both.

Not familiar with the speakers you posted...but I use to use Parasound amps, and can only say good things about them.

They do have their own distinctive sound....when you have an 'ear' you tell it from a Macintosh amp,or a Rotel.

Once had a Panamax...Rotel has their own, wanted all the same thru out the system....anything but Monster.

As with anything....all about the budget.

So lemme understand your system....you are going with a receiver and amps also??

Why not a sound processor??...if you using amps...seems like a waste,by-passing the receiver power.

Also....the speakers you posted, have built in amps?

The sound Processor. I've thought of that I'm looking at the Marantz AV8802 because of it. I'm day one of figuring it all out. I have three months of decisions to make.

What would you recommend?

I have only used Rotel products for the last 7/8 years...and their 1098 sound processor has served me well.I have two of them...paired with their 1095,and 1090 amps.

As I said, those are old now....you can probably find them under a grand now.

I was going to ask the same questions. Hopefully, for the amount and caliber of equipment you're going to use, you have a decent size room.
