Hollywood Biz: AMC Networks CEO Christina Spade Steps Down After Taking Over in September

Another dying industry in the age of streaming and VOD, wasting time and hemorrhaging money to boot while trying to stay alive. I expect all streaming services to introduce more tiered subscription rates, raise those membership fees for the higher tiers and also add commercials for the lower tiers.

Damn...

They should have just kept the model where of you were already paying for the cable network the streaming was including.

Because at this rate I think people actually miss cable packages

Yep, the movie industry is gonna get their money one way or another and those lower tier plans will hopefully bring in more people ... If not they will slowly/quickly raise rates for everyone. I sometimes do miss cable.

My bet is that streaming services will start acting more like cable companies by bundling themselves together or gobbling up smaller services to provide a more well rounded consumer product, i.e. : internet TV/phone service, streaming movies that are still in the theaters (I know they tried this, but I think it's going to make a comeback soon) maybe even being able to shop for things like adding QVC or HSN as a channel or even run something similar as a commercial that you can order as you are watching it.
