I’ll be honest, I struggle with this concept at times. My wife is a parenting coach, we have a 4yr old and a 1 yr old. She’s totally behind conscious parenting and I’m about 75% there.
She grew up in a good home and I grew up with a single momma in the hood. She was never spoken to like this and this was all I knew as a kid. It’s a scientific fact, this stuff has a deep rooted effect on a person in their adult life, I turned out great on paper but I also know I have some emotional issues as a result.
I don’t always like it, I feel that conscious parenting works, but you have to put in the effort and be patient. It’s not a blanket solution for all kids, the first 5 years of a child’s life are critical to their development. If you try to start this shit later, but you’ve been yelling and cussing and beating ass for years, already it’s kinda hard to unring that bell.
My daughter is a handful at times but she’s a fucking 4 year old. I had to unlearn a lot of things and expecting a child to behave like an adult or jump when you say so is some slave shit. We gotta stop handing down child abuse like it’s a tradition, and wonder why dumb ass people like Sukihana , sexy redd, ynw melly, king von, etc, exist as adults.
We don’t talk to our kids like this and I’d shoot the person that ever tried it. Grandparents and everyone else knows not to cross me when it comes to my babies.
The video is a bad example, a straw-man argument, its obvious that this lady hasn’t been trying to instill those concepts from birth. Just because you say something nice one time doesn’t mean that you’re employing conscious parenting. The shit is work, kids aren’t slaves or adults, they are not programmed to follow orders.
Do what you want but don’t put it on the net for clout like this chick, you’re going to jail.
