so you rather the natural resources we have in this country go to waste and we continue to import all of our oil?

es no bueno, T.O.

I've been in several conference calls, most of the day and into the evening; clients wanting to know, what to do; their businesses facing utter ruin. None are optimistic, hell, I'm sad: seafood, deep sea fishing in the Gulf, the beaches are a part of me and my kids' life. One client said to me today, head hung low: es no bueno.

Its not good.

Yes, it looks grave. I use to live in Florida. Florida has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, in fact the beaches are the main component to Florida's number one industry. As I have stated over and over again on this board, those born during and after the Reagan era have this notion that the private sector can do no wrong and have the publics best interests at heart. Guess who the big business asked to help them clean up the mess they created? Where ya at Lamarr?

Top Kill effort has failed

ROBERT, La. (AP) -- BP has failed in its latest attempt to plug the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico with mud and cement.
BP chief operating officer Doug Suttles said Saturday that the maneuver known as a top kill had failed. It was the latest setback for the company trying to stop the crude from further fouling waters, wildlife and marshland.

The spill is the worst in U.S. history and has dumped between 18 million and 40 million gallons into the Gulf, according to government estimates.

BP's top executive had put the chances of success for the top kill at 60 to 70 percent, but officials had cautioned that it had never been done 5,000 feet below the sea.

BP says it's already preparing for the next attempt to stop the leak. Under the new plan, BP would cut off the damaged riser from which the oil is leaking and cap it with a containment valve.

Thought, so you view this disaster as some kinda victory? please explain

"You never want a serious crisis to go to waste," Rahm Emanuel

'One of the keys to being seen as a great leader is to be seen as a commander in chief.' And he said, 'My father had all this political capital built up when he drove the Iraqis out of Kuwait, and he wasted it.' He said, 'If I have a chance to invade . . . if I had that much capital, I'm not going to waste it. I'm going to get everything passed that I want to get passed, and I'm going to have a successful presidency.' "

GW Bush 1999

You are just mad that your ideology fails in the real world.
You said Obama got major donations from BP. Fail
You have yet to give any market based solutions avoiding this. Fail
It seems this may some how affect you personal. You must have family along the gulf. Like most right wingers you only seem to care when it affects you.

I have a market based solution, dissolve BP and use the assets to make restitution to all affected.

I've notice that this is a common view on the left.

First and foremost, the major conservative view is to have a strong LIMITED federal government. Reason being is because of cases like this oil spill. Right now, Obama looks incompetent. It's almost like he wanted this oil spill to get bad. I'm not saying that this is the case, but some must wonder why he put immigration over this tragedy. OH YEA, the Hispanic vote!?!?

Anyhow, I'm not going to put too much blame on Obama. The only thing that pisses me off is that Obama is really trying to find who to blame instead of encouraging the end of this tragedy. Now, behind close doors, it may be a different story. However, how he is openly treating Jindal shows that this is purely a political event to our dear president. I pray to God that I'm not right about my observations....

Nothing surprises me, if you read between the lines of what Thought is saying, he suggesting the oil industry should be nationalized. What better scenario? The fistbump just confirms my point!

I truly felt the same but ultimately, he will recieve most of the blame, especially as new info is released regarding MMS.

In the weeks since BP's Deepwater Horizon well started spewing into the Gulf of Mexico, there's been increasing attention to the "cozy" relationship between the Minerals Management Service (MMS) and the oil industry it's supposed to regulate. How cozy? Just last summer the Obama administration tapped a BP executive to serve as a deputy administrator for land and minerals management.

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar last June appointed Sylvia V. Baca to the post, which did not require Senate confirmation. The appointment follows eight years at BP.

Whose LIMITED? Oh, I get it. when someone else wants government, its socialism, when you and the right want government it is call LIMITED. Typical!

It's almost like he wanted this oil spill to get bad.

Is that how Faux Snooze is spinning it?

how he is openly treating Jindal shows that this is purely a political event to our dear president.

Oh yea, Piyush Jindal. Let me go find the quotes he has made over the last two years chanting that their is too much government intrusion on business. Now he wants DC in LA.

Bottom line:

Cutting though the bullshit. Since I first brought up the oil spill up, which neither you, Lamarr, Greed, Gunner hadn't posted anything until I made it obvious, I have read noting remotely blaming the oil company. Even though they didn't use the available safety devices, didn't inform the government how large the disaster was and possibly lied on the oil lease application which asks do you have the technology and equipment to handle an accident at the depths of the requested drilling. A criminal offense.

Big oil caused this, big oil has made it worse and big oil will have to pay restitutions, not the government.

Read between the lines!

I bet those Obama hating libertarians and conservatives that are being shitted on by BP are looking for some good trial lawyers now!

The real world and Hannity's web site are like night and day.

Na, I don't hate anyone but his economic advisors really need to be challenged

I have read noting remotely blaming the oil company.

Thats because I tend to look for solutions. There will be plenty of time to identify incompetence but let's see if anyone from MMS gets fired/prosecuted.

Could you imagine if NASA was this inept. You would be first to claim the government can't do anything right.

BTW, the saw got stuck today!

but let's see if anyone from MMS gets fired/prosecuted.

I know you get most of your information from Ron Paul and Sean Hannity, but...

Elizabeth Birnbaum - Director of the Mineral Management Service

There will be more.

Will YOU demand that any HIGH level BP execs get fired/prosecuted? (Jail time)

Hypocrite!

how am I being hypocritical?

I'm talking about my observations to this point. Plus, I'm not putting Obama in the blame game. In fact, I wish he would quit trying to sue, and blame everyone that's related to this problem. I would rather him focusing on fixing this problem *by allowing every method available to happen* than him threatening law suits.

Me being hypocritical is me saying "THIS IS ALL OBAMA'S FAULT. HE WAITED TO LONG TO BRING SUPPORT TO THE REGION....BLAH BLAH BLAH". That's the reaction people on the left had against Bush during Katrina.

I guess you think if you put me on a defensive stance that I would be thrown off the scent of all the other bullshit Obama has got himself into. Trust me thought, I have a Iphone full of notes of how/what has Obama done that makes Clinton seems like the second coming of Kennedy. You are not stopping anything with your antics.

Oh yea, that's a leftist talking point. I guess you went to Keith Olbermann's school of overreaction huh?

Can you think of a better deterrent from this happening again? Since your ilk don't want corporations to operate under rules.

If you burned someone's house down and someone is killed in the process. You go to jail. Oh, I forgot. You believe in different laws for corporations and the rest of us.
