I can't get my laptop to connect to the internet any more. I was using wifi to connect. Then one day it wouldn't work any more. It shows it's connected (my wifi). But when I use Google chrome it gives me error 105 (net:: ERR_NAME_MOT_RESOLVED) The server could not be found. When I try Firefox it won't pull up any websites either. You guys know how to fix this??

U on Vista? Right click on IE run as admin....if you CAN get out...then yeah...u got a bug...spend 2 or 3 days trying to clean it or reformat like bruh man said b4

Try restoring back before the incident happened.

All programs- accessories, system tools - system restore

i have no idea if you have a virus/malware or not, but don't panic. you may not need to do anything so drastic as resintalling your OS just yet.

No

1. Get to the Command prompt start-accessories-command prompt. type IPCONFIG

are u getting a ip address if yes

2. Then type Ping www.google.com if u can ping google you are connected

Check your browser and firewall settings

Dont Format your whole os dog!!!:lol:

try this very simple fix:

UN-check the DNS pre-fetching box in chrome.

that should work.

chrome users have complained about this for 2 years.

I'm doing a system restore now. But It's only going back a few days and this problem has been going on for a min now. So I don't think is going to work. I want to put Windows 7 on it. But when I try to burn it to a DVD it always has an error smh

Check your settings in Network connections

Also sounds like DNS isnt set to get DNS automatically

go to network connections in the control panel. Highlight your card.

click on properties/ highlight tcp/ip properties/ then click obtain dns automatically if it isnt checked.

run a spyware check with malware bytes

I had an IP address but I couldn't ping google.

I already had the DNS thing unchecked. Now what??

First try something simple like deleting your network adapters, then reboot to let the computer find them again.
