Great points and I think this is what the whole argument in essence comes down to. Gay people in this country simply don't want to be/feel like the outcasts of society due to their sexual orientation.

This country is hell bent on forcing tolerance to the point of acceptance. Sorry to say it but toleration is not acceptance and you can't force folks to accept you or your ways/lifestyle if they are adamant in their stance that they won't.
