Never knew about being vested in a company plan. I had independent investments before I started contracting. Contracting don’t give a fuck about nobody, mane.
All truth... I vested into two separate pensions and working on a third. I did this with expectations of making sure I at least get one when it is time for me to retire.

This is 2023 but just think about how they rocked asleep the workforce during the 70's and 80's when they had the biggest influx of african americans being hired by big corps where things were setup and the unions was booming and if you were hired you got all of these benefits,pensions/retirement/insurance and some companies started even giving out yearly bonuses. Motherfuckers was using those bonuses to go on vacations,down payments on cars and all kinds of shit not knowing that those bonuses was taking apart of their motherfucking pention everytime they accepted it,year after year.Some companies like Kodak were on the decline in sales but lying to the workers and giving them their bonuses while being in the red and by the 1990's there was no more bonuses,there was no more retirement left and they were cashing people out,take this 50k and go on or nothing and you no longer have insurance either.
My uncle blew that 50k on a car and some more bullshit,the nigga is 70+ still working a job,working harder today than he did back in the days.God bless his soul,my father was explaining this shit back in the 1990's of what was going to happen to em on those good jobs being blinded by the unions,the hiring and firing of ceo's every other year,them bonuses and benefits while using up your invested retirement money to keep the shit afloat til they can no longer do so.....rocked to sleep and nothing you can do about it.

yeah the thing about them govt jobs, is that the workers can be furloughed when congress can't get their shit together when it comes to the debt ceiling. but not many people work at 1 job for 30+ years anymore. but its a damn shame when they do (like this guy)....and can't even cash in on it cuz of this bullshit.
Depending on state and company the guy operating a machine could be making 200,000+ a yr… some of those positions tend to be nepotism careers where they purposely put certain individuals ( white boys) in them to keep the money in certain individuals pockets.. every state ain’t the same when it comes to pay.. that job you may look down on may actually be very lucrative financially

A lot of Americans nowadays have that mindset and it got elevated during the pandemic in 2020.
That pandemic/shutdown pulled back the curtain on how Fucked up everything is. The illusion of a secure economy was exposed.
The news media likes to talk about the job growth, but they never talk about the millions of Americans who have said “Fuck These Sorry Ass Jobs That Don’t Pay A Living Wage or Provide Benefits”.
These strikes are a result of that curtain being pulled back.
