Im down to 265. My goal is 205 Im 5'9". I was fucking huge, but dropped a ton of weight over summer (began in may). Shit is slow though and real hard. The only way im able to lose weight is to keep my calories around 2k and bust my ass in the gym. I hit the stair master on friday and that monster tested my manhood--but i felt good after i finished my 20 minutes

My diet is clean with plenty of protein in the form of supplements. Im going to get back on the raw foods this week though--i hit outback steakhouse and had a porterhouse friday :smh:

Yeah, I was a big boy. About 10 years ago I was approx. 310 lbs @ 6'1''. I had a 52'' waist, high blood pressure, and a family history of diabetes. I just upped and decided to start watching what I ate, and the weight began to fall off. I didn't really change the amount I ate, I just changed what I ate. In fact, I ate more meals when on a "diet" than I ate when I got fat. Long story short, I lost over 100lbs in less than 1 year by eating an extremely low fat diet (~15 grams/day), which consisted of shredded wheat w/ skim milk and fruit (breakfast), sandwich (tuna/lean meat) unsalted baked chips and fruit (lunch), and grilled turkey/chicken/fish w/ veggies (dinner). I also biked 13 miles a day on a stationary bike for at least 1 hour a day. In less than a year, I lost over 100 lbs, and my waist size went from a size 52'' to ~32''. It was then that people around me started saying enough is enough (LOL), and I quit dieting. So, after a year of dieting, I decided to have a treat. I went out and purchased a McDs burger and fries. Big mistake. Back in the day, I could polish off 2 of these meals w/o a problem, but after a year of dieting, my whole system changed. That fuckin' burger sent me on a trip to the ER. I thought I had solmanila posioning or something the way my body reacted. It took days for me to get back to normal after that. So, it was hard transitioning off my diet and back to a fattier diet in order to prevent further weight loss. Another problem was, after a lifetime of being fat, I had a lot of loose belly skin. The only way to fix the problem was to hit the weights. I lacked the motivation to do weight lifting, so the skin stayed loose and my weight began to eventually increase. I eventually gained 50lbs of it back over the next 2 years, but I would lose it again. My body seems to be able to shed lbs real quick just by changing what I eat. So, when I want to lose weight, I just change the foods I eat and get moderate exercise. Each year I swear it's going to be the one that I go "whole hog" and commit to a lifetime of proper diet, exercise, and weight lifting. I hope next year is the year I keep that committment. That's my story. Hope it helps OP. Good luck to you.

When I left Oregon in 2003,
I was 250lbs at 5'11".

Coming back to New York,
I did lots of walking in the city.
And a lot of physical work in Barnes and Noble.

Within a year,
I was down to 190lbs.
And have been there ever since.

Would love to go down to 180lbs.
But haven't been able to do so.

i lost 20+ pounds since may:dance:

i stopped eating red meat in 88...i stopped eating chicken and fish this summer

BTW, the best advice I can give you is to exercise early in the morning. I dieted for a whole year, and never cheated once during that time. If you exercise in the morning, it will give you the proper motivation to avoid cheating during the day. I can't tell you how many times I was tempted to cheat, but the thought of that hour long trek on my stationary bike gave me the power to stay on the diet. By cheating, it would of made the hell of that ride moot. Also, several others have said in this thread that the most important thing is getting in your cardio. That's the truth. Cardio, cardio, cardio is the name of the game. You must burn more calories than you consume. So, cardio is the key. My personal favorite was a stationary bike that had "recipricating?" handles. You know, the handles that you have to work as you peddle. This gives you a upper and lower body cardio workout simulataneously. But, you find what works for you, and stick with it. Watch you calorie intake, get your cardio work in, and your metabolism may/should/will increase. If it does, it will make weight loss even more easier. Hell, when I went off my diet (when I decided I had lost enough weight), my body kept lossing weight despite the fact that I stopped exercising.

Aight, tell you what...buy a weight vest, maybe 20 Lbs, They even sell them shits at Walmart for like 30 Bucks. Wear that when you do cardio. Buy some Fast Twitch or Nano Vapor, nano Vapor is cool, but that shit will help you burn more fat while you workout, 2 fat burners in that joint, plus it contains some creatine and shit like that to help you get more pumps while lifting weights. Also help you with the cardio, do that shit (Cardio) after you lift weights so ya body works even harder while you doing cardio, since it's carrying the weight vest and the broken down muscle. Go Home, Eat some protein, drink some Isopure-pure protein drink with no carbs or sugars, stay away from muscle milk and shit like that. Then every night do that P90X Ab workout...do that for 1 Month straight..even if you do the ab workout every other night..you will lose and burn and get toned and cut.

I was up to as much as 280 and I'm 5'9"......I was lifting weights but all it did was push the fat out further....I was around 271 in the middle of June and I've been doing a LOT more cardio and I'm down to 244....My goal is 199.

Lifting weights is cool but a nigga needs cardio to really make it work...What good is having muscle with layers of fat on it.

I was 260 at 5 "10. what you eat is probably the most important thing. You will lose weight easily when you are beginning exercises but eventually you will plateau until you fix your diet.

I had over 30 percent body fat. Now im at 11 %. trying to get to at least 8. Remember give it time. If you cut too fast itll come back just as fast. Make sure you get protein with every meal. Not just the shakes but I mean real food like grilled(skinless) chicken and for carbs I stick with sweet potatoes. They are low glycemic(wont turn to fat easily) and they taste good anyway.

My friend is a bodybuilder and he's going to nationals in a few months. All he eats is sweet potatoes and chicken. We like to joke that he has no taste buds. Trust me though, dude is ripped (4%bodyfat/probably lower when he competed recently). He says to cut carbs after 5pm and stick to veggies and protein(real food) at night.

Ain't no way in hell he gonna be able to do that :smh: the vid even tells you don't do it everyday :hmm:

Do like they say, do cardio.. an fuck that stair stepper shit... playing ball (any ball, basketball tennis flag football soccer whatever) will help you lose weight faster because your moving dynamically instead of the stair stepper/treadmill where you doin the same move continously

Keep it bro. But Keep lifting weights. Lifting weights is what give's you a faster metabolism. It will be easier to keep the weight off once you have a higher muscle vs fat ratio. Plus lifting changes your body shape more so than straight cardio.

Working out with 85lb dumbbells is pretty good. Don't feel the need to jump up to quick because you should be focused on high reps anyway. You have to check your ego at the door. Rep between 12-15. If you can do that with 85 lbs, your good. If not, then drop the weight some.

You didn't have to lie :hmm:

but good luck to you

lol, I read that thinking the same thing. I remember the first time I picked up some 50 pounders when I first started working out early this summer.. I was like wtfffff... lemme put these shits down.

yep was a big guy in 2004 5 10 ~ 240

My diet was bad back then. I've always played basketball to even things out but that only goes so far. I started a vegetarian diet 2 weeks ago after watching the food that kills video posted here, and will try very hard to stick with it. I'm down to 180 my skin is better and my mind is clearer. Discipline is key.

damn thats cold....

OP....stick to that stairmaster son. better get up to an hour. 20 mins ain't even enough to get going. honestly that short you need to get on the bike afterwards. go for an hour of cardio.

he is 100% wrong. cardio requires your heart rate to be higher. the fat burning range for your age is around 120-125. get a heart rate monitor and when you're on the treadmill or whatever keep your heart rate in that range. that is the fat burning range. trust what i say. i'm 6'2 250 with 11% body fat.
