Have alot of your friends/ fam gmail accounts been hacked?

Lately I've been getting spam/ phishing email from some of my contacts gmail accounts.

It'll be a blank email with this link or one similar: ht tp:/ /bemi y ege.t35. com/

Gmail has always been really good with security as far as webmail goes.

Who is hacking all these gmail accounts??

it doesnt necessarily mean gmail was hacked, though that could be the case. it could have been yahoo or hotmail accounts broken into they just harvest peoples contact lists and then they use those to break into more and etc... they use those legitimate email names/addresses to get past your providers spam filters, you can spoof any return address. happened to my friend on yahoo and there is nothing he can do about it. he changed his password but too late his address is still circulating the internet with spam and his name since last year

Make sure you aren't the one hacked and the crack isn't just picking random names from your address book.

Ask your friends to check their activity by clicking the link at the bottom of the gmail page and ask if any of it is unusual. if not, then the problems probably is with you, or you are just getting forged spam.

No, Mac4L1ph3 is right. It's not a gmail issue. I just looked and one of the addresses is hotmail.

Gmail + google apps is still an awesome solution.
