This picture is from Ooltgensplaat, the Netherlands, in 2013. This wind turbine caught fire as two technicians were working on it, and there really wasn't much they could do once the blaze got going. In this picture, the two embrace before one tries his luck at jumping almost 200 feet to his death. The other tried crawling down through the tube, only to get trapped inside. They were 19 and 21 years old.

Carl Williams was an Australian drug kingpin who got into some legal trouble and was sentenced to life in an Australian prison. During his time behind bars, he reportedly turned informant and started talking about former associates. In this picture, an associate of his former associates approaches Williams from behind with a piece of tubular steel torn out of an exercise bicycle. Williams' body wasn't discovered for another half an hour. Source: News.com

A British mall surveillance camera captured this image in 1993. The little boy is James Bulger, and he's holding hands with a 10-year-old who is leading him out of the mall. After leaving the premises, they were joined by another 10-year-old. Together, the two older boys killed James, apparently for no reason. The senseless brutality of the murder shocked British society to its core. James' killers were held for years in juvenile detention, then took new identities on being released as adults. Parkour is an amazing urban sport. Freerunners leap, scale, and flip over the sides of buildings as if gravity has given them a hall pass. Pavil Kashin, however, had his pass revoked with this maneuver. In this picture, Pavil is flipping on the ledge of a 16-story building. The maneuver was successful, but he lost his footing just after landing. Kashin fell over the edge and died on impact. Source: [URL='http://www.farang-mag.com']Farang Magazine

Like Begnino Aquino before him, Dagsa would be made to pay for making enemies. This picture, taken just after midnight on New Year's Day, 2011, shows Dagsa's family celebrating the holiday. It also shows a man named Arnel Buenaflor jumping out of his car and firing the shot that would kill Reynaldo, who was taking this picture. When your victim literally takes your photograph as you squeeze the trigger, you're as good as convicted. Buenaflor and two partners were arrested within days of the murder. On its first public exhibition in St. Louis in 1943, this Waco glider crashed after a poorly-fastened bolt came loose and the starboard wing sheared off. The glider plummeted 2,000 feet onto Lambert field and hit the ground with what one witness described as a dull thud, killing 10 people. Source: [URL='http://www3.gendisasters.com']Gen Disasters

And what people they were! Since this was the Waco's first public exhibition, all kinds of important people went up for the test flight. The group in this picture, which was taken a few minutes before liftoff, includes St. Louis Mayor William Becker; William Robertson – the founder of Lambert Airport and head of the company that built the glider; Chamber of Commerce president Thomas Dysant; and the St. Louis County Chief Executive, Henry Mueller. In a single crash, a sizable fraction of St. Louis' political and business elite were lost, which is something to think about if the mayor of your city ever invites you and his golfing buddies along on a SpaceX trip he's taking. Budd Dwyer, pictured here at his last press conference. Dwyer was a career politician and Pennsylvania State Treasurer who, in 1986, was convicted of some serious corruption charges. This press conference was called immediately before he could be removed from office. At the conference, Dwyer repeated his denial that he had broken the law. After his statement, Dwyer pulled a revolver out of a paper bag. In this picture, he's warning onlookers to stay away, as: "this thing could go off." Ki-Suk Han, a 58-year-old father and husband, is pictured below just before his untimely death. The picture was taken after he had been pushed in front of an oncoming train in the New York City subway. By looking at the photo we can clearly see this poor man’s ill-starred fate.

This is a photo that a loving father took of his wife and daughter as they headed towards a vacation. All smiles in the picture, this family has no idea that the MH17 plane they’re on is about to crash over Ukraine, killing everyone aboard. Investigators believe that passengers remained alive and conscious during the 3-to-4-minute plummet from 33,000 feet.

This is a haunting image of the World Trade Center during a dramatic storm. It was snapped on September 10, 2001, one day prior to the 9/11 Attacks. Even amidst the turbulent winds, cracking thunder, and stone-cold rain, the towers stand tall and strong for their final hours. This photo not only serves as a reminder to the American People of September 11th’s events, but symbolizes the strength needed to endure a difficult time.

In 2008, a salesman named Travis Alexander was killed by his ex-girlfriend, Jodi Arias. This photo of him was taken in the shower, at 5:29 p.m. on the day of his death. His lifeless body was later discovered on the bathroom floor in that same room, after he had been stabbed and shot.

On January 7th 2012, a hot air balloon struck a high voltage power line, and violently caught fire as it was attempting to land. It crashed just north of New Zealand town, Caterton, killing 10 passengers and 1 pilot aboard. It was the deadliest air disaster to occur in New Zealand since 1963.

This is the disturbing last photograph of Pacific Southwest Airlines Flight 182. The doomed aircraft collided with another plane over San Diego On September 25th, 1978 at 9 a.m. All 137 passengers aboard were killed, as well as 7 civilians on the ground. 22 homes were destroyed as a result of the impact.

This was the final photograph taken of legendary, Hollywood heartthrob James Dean. He’s momentarily captured at a gas station with his Porsche 550 Spyder in 1955. This picture was taken just hours before Dean’s fatal car crash in that same car. The totalled automobile mysteriously disappeared in 1960 from a shipment container after being toured as a safe driving presentation.

These two happy ladies, Collette Moreno (left) and Ashley Theobald (right), were on their way to Collette’s bachelorette party in Missouri when they snapped this car selfie. The women were in a head-on collision just moments later, and Collette didn’t survive. She suffered fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Moira Smith, an NYPD officer, is shown below assisting an injured man away from the World Trade Center just after the 9/11 terror attacks. Minutes later, she rushed into the south tower of the WTC to help evacuate more victims when the building collapsed. She was the only female NYPD officer to be killed in the attacks.

Jared Michael did not necessarily think this plan through. In an attempt to get a selfie standing in front of a moving train, he put himself directly into harm’s way. He decided to position himself on the tracks, directly into the path of the moving train. However, Jared should be thanking his lucky stars for what happened next…

The train conductor spotted Jared just in the nick of time. He was actually able to kick his foot out of the moving train, and pushed Jared out of the way with his work boot. This is one of those moments where you learn a valuable life lesson, especially for Jared.

David Sanders was a teacher at Columbine High School during the 1999 massacre, carried out by two unhinged seniors. Photographed is Sanders as he warns students in the cafeteria that there were gunmen on the loose. After this image was captured, he ran into the hallway where he was gunned down by the psychopaths.

On November 22, 1963, a motorcade was driving President John F. Kennedy and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy as they were heading through Dallas. This is the final image taken of JFK while he was still alive. He was shot and killed by assassin Harvey Lee Oswald, from a school book depository, just moments later.

In 1970, 14 year old Australian Keith Sapsford inexplicably hid in the wheel-well of a Japan-bound flight out of Sydney. An amateur photographer testing his new camera lens unintentionally captured the young boy’s free-fall to his death. He dropped an estimated 200 feet until he hit the ground without living to tell the tale.

A hiker named Darsh Patel was killed by a bear while hiking through New Jersey woods in 2014. He managed to capture images of this 300-pound animal right before it gored him to death. Patel’s phone was later recovered, although quite noticeably, with the bear’s teeth marks in it.

A Boeing 707 aircraft that crashed while traveling from New York City to Belgium in 1961 killed 73 people. This tally unfortunately included the entire U.S. figure skating team, which was en route to the World Figure Skating Championships in Prague. Here, the team looks happy to be embarking on their journey.

Here’s actor Paul Walker getting into the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT that he ended up dying in just minutes later, after a collision and a fire.

In 1986, the NASA Space Shuttle orbiter Challenger broke apart just 73 seconds after launch. All seven crew members were killed. Here they are as they jubilantly prepare to board the craft just hours earlier.

The first outbreak of Ebola, in 1976, killed 280 people. This is a nurse named Mayinga N’Seka, pictured just days before she succumbed to the virus she had helped to fight.

This is Xenia Ignatyeva. The 17-year old wanted a dramatic selfie, and she got it. Right after this photo was snapped, she lost her balance and fell to her death.

Groom Martin Colquhoun was heartbroken when his beloved mother perished in an auto accident on her way home from his wedding reception. This is the last photo taken of her.

Domestic terrorist Timothy McVeigh is seen here with the rental truck that carried the explosives that killed 168 people in the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City. This surveillance photo was captured right before the bombs went off.

This is the 2000 Air France Flight 4590 (from Paris to New York City) as it caught fire during takeoff. All 109 aboard died.

1980’s rock group Great White held a reunion show at a nightclub called The Station in 2003. The venue caught fire and burned to the ground, killing 100 people. This photo seems to show a band member noticing the flames.

In a noble attempt to raise awareness for the homeless, Robert Overacker attempted to jet ski over Niagara Falls in 1995. He fell to his death when his rocket-propelled parachute failed to open. Here he is, heading over the falls.

In 1937, the German passenger blimp “Hindenburg” caught on fire and crashed in New Jersey. 36 people died in the incident. Here is the aircraft before disaster hit.

In 2014, 24 engineering students drowned in India when the nearby Larji hydro electric project unexpectedly released a large amount of water upstream from their group. This group photo was taken just prior to the flooding.

Here we see George Mallory and Sandy Irvine at their Mount Everest base camp in 1924. Neither came down from the mountain alive. This was the last known picture of them before they died. They were last seen on the North East ridge during their attempt to make the first assent of the world’s highest mountain. Whether Mallory and Irvine reached the summit before they died remains a subject of speculation and continuing research.

This picture recovered from the crash site of Japan Airlines Flight 123, shows the cabin before tragedy struck. A total of 509 people were killed. There were 4 survivors. There was an explosive decompression on board caused by a faulty repair performed seven years earlier. The plane crashed 32 minutes later.

Leonard Siffleet, an Australian soldier during World War II, seconds before he was beheaded by a Japanese soldier.

In this photo, Japanese student Ayano Tokumasu is seen in the background, standing looking at Niagara Falls a moment before she straddled the railings, and took her own life by jumping into the falls.

Tina and David Watson were newlyweds on their honeymoon to Australia, going for a dive at the Great Barrier Reef. David told Tina he was certified in scuba diving, but he was lying. When currents got too much for Tina to handle, instead of attempting to rescue her, David swam back to the surface. The picture of Tina in the background, lying on her side, is the final picture other divers took while she was (maybe) still alive.

Dr. Jamie Zimmerman, who was a doctor and a reporter for ABC News, uploaded this photograph to her Facebook page while she was on vacation in Hawaii. Shortly after the picture was taken, however, she lost her footing and fell into a river, where her body was swept out to the same sea in the picture.

In this photograph, Cadet Stephen Hilder smiles for the camera for one last moment. Afterward, he would jump, having sabotaged his parachute and his back-up parachute. Medical examiners initially thought that someone else sabotaged him, but determined later that he had sabotaged his own parachutes and had taken his own life.

In 1998, a car bomb placed by the Real Irish Republican Army went off in Omagh, Ireland in the red car pictured here. The bomb ended the lives of 31 people. The father and son in the picture survived, but the photographer did not.
