New York (CNN) — A Federal Aviation Administration system that provides pilots with notices they need to read before flying is experiencing an outage, affecting flights in the United States.
It's unclear how many flights will be affected, because some airlines may be able to operate without information from the system, known as the NOTAMS -- or Notice to Air Missions -- system.

Of course they aren't saying that but...funny how the whole system is experiencing an outage ...

You know, I think something big is going on because my company lost all of its VPN access. Very interesting.

They are saying that even though all is back to normal, there are many crews that are out of position or they can't work because they have timed out and can't fly until they take mandatory time off.

Looks like only a few hours of delays right now, but it might get worse.

This is another symptom of poor leadership. The head of the DoT, Pete Buttegig has no experience in the role and really only got the job as a political favor for bowing out of the race against Biden. Now we're seeing issues with the airlines one after another and there's no one in government stepping up to do anything or hold anyone accountable. And we're seeing the same shit at ports around the country along with commercial trucking, everything the Dept. of Transportation touches is becoming a shit show under this administration.

I thought the Trucking Industry was having serious problems since 2005, the post situation was a direct result from the after effects from the Covid shutdown and I thought he initiated airline accountability last year. Today's shitshow Is a result of decades of neglect and won't be surprised other departments will have another breakdown.

Anyway, I used to work for a state government agency and know too well underfunded departments have to work reactively due to temporary leadership's ambitions.
