Hall of Fame cornerback Herb Adderley, who helped lead the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys to six NFL championships and three of the first six Super Bowl championships, died today after a recent hospitalization. Details on the cause of death have not been released. Born in Philadelphia, Adderley was an All-American halfback at Michigan Stage before being switched to cornerback by the Packers, where he became the NFL's premier player at his position during the 1960s. Adderley was named first-team All NFL four times, and was selected to five Pro Bowls. He was also named to the NFL's All-Decade team of the 1960s. He is the third African-American Hall of Famer from the 1960s Packers defense to die in 2020, following Willie Wood (February) and Willie Davis (April).
