Officials are investigating a bizarre incident in which a man smoking crack set himself on fire in Brooklyn, then nonchalantly walked away as his clothes burned off him, according to a report.
The incident was caught on a dramatic 30-second video posted on Twitter Monday by @NYCFireWire.
The video was recorded Sunday on Halsey St. near Tompkins Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
“This guy’s on fire,” a man on the recording is heard saying as he moved closer while flames danced on the victim’s right side, back, and jacket, which he removed to pat down.

“Are you OK?” the man making the recording asked. “Are you good?”
The man said nothing and walked away — still on fire — as the video ends.

Cops and firefighters were called but the victim had vanished when they arrived.
FDNY fire marshals returned the next day to investigate and learned the man’s identity, officials said.
He had returned home and fallen asleep, according to DNAinfo, which first reported the story. After he awoke and his horrified family saw his burns he was taken to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in stable condition, the website reported.
FDNY officials told the Daily News he was taken by ambulance to the hospital about 4:20 p.m. Monday.
He told his family that he had set himself on fire when he put a still-burning cigarette lighter in his pocket while smoking crack, DNAinfo reported.
