Guns dont go off by themselves!

I have never seen a gun load itself, chamber a round by itself nor fire by itself.

Guns are not the problem. People that are not responsible are the problem. Fam.. don't fall into the hype! If they take away any part of our 2nd amendment right, slavery here we come. And not just black slavery!

All of these people calling for stricter gun control. They are the ones that can afford security and bodyguards. Think about it!

My thoughts.

That maybe or maybe not be true.

However, guns, in the United States are way too easy to acquire.

Anybody can get one. Do you know of anybody who, with minimum effort cannot get a gun?

The gun laws are a joke. They need to revised and strengthened, without loopholes.

See, Those Damn Guns Again

3D printers can already create gun parts. They will be able to make firearms within a few more years

Once that happens gun control laws will become almost impossible to enforce since anyone with access to a printer will be able to create as many untraceable fully functional firearms as they wish.

Therefor IMO the US needs to loosen gun laws immediately while simultaneously offering the public free courses in gun safety and marksmanship. At the very least it will lead to less accidents and innocent bystanders getting blown away

So why aren't guns as prevalent in Canada?

Because Canada, unlike the United States, wasn't formed from a revolution carried out largely by local militias. Instead our "freedom" was given to us by a dwindling empire that disarmed its colonists to prevent violent uprisings against the crown.

Canadian cities do tend to have lower homicide rates than equivalent sized US cities. It should be noted that the burglary and car theft rates are MUCH higher.

It should also be noted that once this 3D printer technology allows the average person to produce cheap, untraceable, functional firearms the US will likely be one of the least affected nations. This is because practically every American who wants a gun already has one.

Actually Canadian was not founded on racism.

Guns were used to subjugate people in bondage.

Anyone can create a bomb (see Oklahoma City).

It is a against the law for anyone to have a bomb illegally.

Thought about and I agree. That's why I support national gun registration so that we can do all we can to keep guns out of the hands of those who are irresponsible or, more importantly, out of the hands of those who are not or cannot be held to be responsible for their actions, i.e., the mentally ill and others who shouldn't be allowed to bear arms.

Pledge your support to national gun registration and add some responsibility to a national problem.

Canada was founded on racist colonialism just like every other country in the Americas, but for the purpose of this discussion I focused on the guns.

I don't quite agree that anyone can build a bomb. Timothy McVeigh, the Oklahoma bomber, was a highly trained combat veteran backed up by underground militias. Most people lack his knowledge and connections. They would be more likely to blow up their own hands long before they twisted their first wire.

Guns on the other hand are much simpler. Point, click, fire, kill. So basic a child could do it and many children do.

Once this technology becomes widely available I can see groups of people building these illegal weapons and carrying them just to see if the police have the resources to arrest all of them.

Gun Registration goes against our right to privacy. But education is vital to becoming a responsibly armed citizen. For example, responsible gun owners should ensure that their family is education about gun ownership.
There will always be irresponsible people around somewhere. But mandating that responsible gun owners register their weapons leave them open to the criminals that have access to the data. One more point that I find interesting is the fact that we always hear about how a person was killed or injured by a gun but little to no notice is given to the countless times a would be perpetrator has been stopped by a responsibly armed citizen.
Criminals have guns and will keep them. Responsibly armed people should do the same..

Canada, like every white (European) colonial aggressor founded their colonies on racism. This is true, however the racisim in Canada, by any measure was nowhere near what the United states created and perpetuated.

I don't think anyone could make a gun out of 3D printer. In fact, gunsmiths have been making guns in small shops for centuries.

I think it is easier to make an Ammonia/diesel fuel bomb than to make a gun, 3D printer or otherwise. All you have to do is search the net and find any number of instructions for this.

There has been a limit placed on how much fertilizer you can purchase because of the threat of constructing a bomb. Do you know of any threats of another Oklahoma City type bomb being used in the past 20 years?

California, for example wants to microstamping all guns and ammunition to easily trace guns and bullets. This is being fought tooth and nail by the gun lobby.

Gun show loophole elimination has been proposed for decades. Again the the gun lobby fights this at every step.

The ability to control the misuse of guns is not difficult to achieve, it's just that those that don't give a fuck about human lives over their own dick size are the cause.

Come on!

Compare similarly sized cities.

Chicago and Toronto.

The crime rates at all levels are vastly different.

I question your assessment on Canadian racism vs. The USA. We didn't have as active of a roll in the Trans-Atlantic slave trade, but that was mainly because it didn't work well with our economic system. We still committed mass genocide against Native Americans and committed lesser atrocities against the Chinese and Indians specifically.

The 3d printer technology is where home cdr burning was twenty years ago. It's possible to access, but very expensive and limited in what it can accomplish. This will likely change within the next few years. However, it's unlikely that the gunsmith trade will grow as fast.

Yes, numerous bomb threats have been made since Oklahoma, but few have been successfully carried out. The serious ones usually get foiled because of an error made by one of the many people and factors needed to pull it off.

Compare how many Americans die from bombs compared to guns. It's not even close.

Until I hear about Black Canadians getting gunned down like American Blacks, I will say racism in the US is greater than Canada.

And as I said, gun restrictions need to be strengthened.

Cops are cops no matter where you go. The only difference is that it's harder for a cop to get away with killing in Canada than it is in the US. There's a much higher burden of proof for self defense. The police also stress the use of non-leathal weapons and actively work to keep their death toll as low as possible.

The cops still enforce their very racist attitudes there though. My ex-wife was locked up overnight because she was suspected of stealing a car that had been seen near a park her and her friends were in. Her friends, all white, were let go without questioning.

I went to a hiphop summit in Vancouver and saw a kid there with a wicked gash in his arm. Found out the police had chased him down with dogs the night before. Granted, he might have been doing something illegal, but if it was serious enough to warrant dogs then why send him home the next day?

I also know several black women who have been felt up by cops during DUI checkpoints. One lady who got "patted down" wasn't even the one driving. I have never heard of this happening to a Canadian white woman unless she was being arrested.

Then of course there's the two omnipresent police cars that are always parked outside of every black club, the annual Caribbean festival, I've even seen them outside of black church picnics before.

I'm white so I don't know the full magnitude of it, but these are just a few examples from personal experience.
