Dude is straight murdering the hipsters with those prices. To be fair though, quality seafood ain't cheap. He owns another spot called Greens & Gravy on Abernathy, down the way from the AU/West End area.
I wrote this post 2 years ago before I opened my first restaurant. I go so much hate and flack regarding this post. Last night, one of my biggest fears happened. My staff was robbed at gun point. It’s money. I don’t care about that. They were forced into a bathroom, feared for their lives, while some low life got away with nothing more than a few hundred dollars. Effective immediately, Greens & Gravy Chicago, Soul Crab ATL, and Soul Crab Chicago (opening soon) will NOT ACCEPT CASH. Credit/Debit Cards only. Y’all, pray for my staff. And please, this is the wrong time to offer any advice. Refrain from it, even if you feel led to share.
