Got a man here saying Magic Johnson was better than Micheal Jordan WHo agrees?

Who was better Magic or Jordan?
I'm going with Jordan

I can't even take that question serious, so I'm just going to laugh. I'll slap a motherfucker with a dry pack of top ramen noodles asking me some shit like that.

:roflmao2::roflmao2::roflmao2:

What's so funny about this question. This is a legit debate. I'm going with Jordan though. But Magic to me is in the discussion.

I dont know man. Magic could do it all. But since Magic said MJ is the goat a 1000x himself, I got to go with MJ too.

Its because we are talking about 2 different types of players.

Ok. But you can still have a discussion of what player was better, regardless of the type. Who brought more to your team.

Kobe and Lebron are two different type of players and we debate that on bgol all day.

Magic Johnson:
- Better floor leader by virtue of him being a PG. He could run the offense vs. having the offense run thru him.
- Better passer. Top-10 in NBA history
- More flexible. He knew how to play all 5 positions.

Michael Jordan:
- Better everything else.

Michael Jordan is a once in a generation kind of athelete. Once people accept this fact, this stupid petty comparison will end.

Magic better then me....

These types of debates are pointless because your going to have the majority agree one thing, while someone will have their opinion and that will turn into a drawn out debate where one group is talking about a players stats, someones talking about what he did on the court and while someone else is talking about the players character on and sometimes off the court.

Micheal Jordan vs God on the court, some will say MJ would have taken him, hands down.:dunno:

It's no crime to think so. Johnson was a one-of-kind baller who could do things Jordan couldn't even dream of doing, and he played in a much tougher league at his peak.

Jordan was a better athlete, but Magic did more to make others better. He had better court vision, played more positions, and was able to get multiple players on the other team in foul trouble with his pinpoint passing. It's often been said that you should start your dream team with a big man. If Jordan was the ONLY exception to that rule, then why wouldn't you want to start with a big player who has point guard skills/mentality and a superb basketball I.Q?

One-on-one: Mike
Building a championship team: Magic

END THREAD. Look at the responses by ALL of the people on the panel INCLUDING Magic himself...and Kenny Smith really broke it down.

and especially Thomas.

What's Magic gonna say?? He's an '80s player. He has humility, but he knows.

Not just Magic...Bird, Thomas....even greats from previous eras have gone on record..

However, I think legitimate arguments can be made for Kareem, etc...

Again, it's not like they're gonna hype themselves. Jordan won a bunch of scoring titles and the most championships in recent memory, but he never came as close to AVERAGING a triple-double for a season as Magic did and he never won a championship in a 22-team league.

Different players and a very tough call. I say it depends on what you need. Magic made everyone better by making a way to get people easy shots and by killing dudes himself. He was way smarter than Jordan and everyone else but Bird. Jordan was a better offensive scorer and a better on ball defender. This is not a run away win for Jordan.

So what.

They both have a multitude of players to choose from, and they all consistently bring up Michael Jordan as the GOAT. Take it up with them if you have a problem with it.

So ... they're not gonna name themselves. Which part don't you get?? Jordan is the default pick these days, and has been for a while. Doesn't mean it's a lock.

They both have a multitude of players to choose from, ...

Not really. There are only 4 or 5 reasonable choices.

I'm biased

But I bet you half of the people screaming Jordan, barely even saw either one of them play

Come on, Son. It has nothing to do them picking themselves or picking someone by default. Magic Johnson has seen more basketball from every era than you and I could even hope to. He played with Kareem....who I think there is a legitimate case as the GOAT...however, he would be able to more able to distinguish between them having having not only playing against Thomas, Bird, etc... but having played with another all-time great like Kareem

Fuck outta here with these cats picking Jordan by default.
