Bowling Alleys. I'm in Philly and there are only 9 bowling alleys in the city of 1.5M. Anyone know of this industry. I'll try and do a restaurant/bowling/arcade thing.

Yo, I'm upstate NY and I've just started to research the same thing. There is a spot called Gillian's on long island that does exactly what we trying to do. It has an arcade, restaurant, pool hall and bowling alley in one building. I'm too far to go visit and don't have a website yet. But maybe you and I can do our research in tandem and save time.

If you are upstate there is a Jillians in Albany it is a franchise check it out if your closer to there than long island

I'm already one step ahead of you son, Jilians went bankrupt. They picked the wrong locations. They tried to be upscale/downtown orientated. I wanna do more inner city/strip malls. Rents cheaper and more foot traffic.

Here's some info:

Initial investment:Approximate cost in U.S. dollars is $100,000 to $120,000 per lane (includes land, building and bowling equipment), depending heavily on land cost.

Revenue streams: Cash flow from bowling, shoe rental and food and beverage is immediate.

Profitability is very high: Pre-tax profits in many places can be 30% or more of revenue. 30 cents on the dollar. variable costs are low (wages, electricity, matainence). Onced fixed costs (land, equipment) are taken care of, its all profits. Thats not including Pro shops, food and beverage sales, shoe rentals, arcade rooms, vending machines, billiard tables and league bowling fees also contribute to already strong profitability

I was thinking along the same lines, myself. I'm in Chester,Pa. I just started out in my Make money (investment) thing. I started in real estate (renting 1 property now), but the sky is the limit. Any info I get, I will share. If you need a partner or wanna brainstorm let me know. I've been starting to network with young brotha's, as well as like business minds.
