Going the Grand Canyon this Summer, any tips?

I'm taking the fam on a side trip to the Grand Canyon this summer, any tips from those who have been?

Stay at the North Rim if you can and only visit the South Rim. Finding a hotel on the south end will be a bitch and the views are better on the north.
