Glory Days! Post a story of the time you played a sport and were IN THE ZONE!

I've had a few but I will say that my lights out softball season was special to me! I was 27 and I had hooked up with this chick that told me she loved me and I loved her. That sounds funny but I had liked a few chicks but I felt loved and I loved at the same time. I'm a good SB player but this year was nice. I had 3 inside the park HRs, multiple diving catches at 2nd and the outfield, 5 runners thrown out at the plate, and 17 HRs including 3 on a cold(33 degrees) night. My best one was a night we were leading by one and their best hitter was up. We were playing deep because he could slam it as well as hit for average. A runner was on 1st and the 2nd baseman had to cover. Dude had been pulling to left all night, so we were shading. The pitch and dude hit it and I start running forward. I was firing on all cylinders and needed more juice because the ball was falling fast. I hit last gear and was moving like a cheetah but the ball was still falling. Next thing I know, my body sad dive. I dive and hit the ground hard . . . with the ball in my glove. I got up fired to first and got the runner. Game over!!!

The last basketball game of the season when I played b team basketball for the high school. After the rebound the point guard was suppose to look for me going down court and I was suppose to bring it to the top of the key to look for a forward and make an inside pass. But as soon as he gave me the ball I start going down court and soon as I passed the half court line I started getting ready to shoot. Just a little distance over the half court line I shot the ball and luckily I stripped nets. A perfect 2 points. And the coach immediately took me out of the game. But he did say you did good. Even though that was not the play and I knew what I was suppose to do. Fuck him.

The day was Friday April 13th, 1984. Long story short, in high school we had a hoops game... I hit GAME WINNING shot at buzzer.. We won 65-64. My dad was there and he played the "4 Digit" lottery that evening. He played 6564 and hit (I think he hit box).. My whole family was in zone that day.. LOL.

Sophomore year in college

Was in a 4 on 4 basketball tourney on campus. Schedule got mixed and 2 of my teammates was either in class or off campus at the time we were supposed to play. So i talked the team we was playing to play us 2 on 2,and they could sub if they wanted. To make matters worse the dude that did show up for my team spoke little English by could flat out BALL.

Mmmaaannnnnn when i tell you i was in the zone....shit was unreal. Handles was on point, jumper was wet, and i caught one of them dudes off the dribble and yammed on him so hard he subbed himself out the game. And that was my first time dunking on that rim because for whatever reason i had a hard time jumping on cement vs a hardwood court.

We ended up winning the series 2-1 with last game going up to 23 because you had to win by 2.

I took karate when I was younger and I remember my time of in the zone actually happened when sneaking in one night. I remember walking into our dark house and soon as I stepped in all the way I hear a swiping sound at my head. But a miss. Then the lights come on and my mom standing there with a belt. She swung the belt and I became that dude from The last Dragon. Evry swing was a miss. I was just moving body parts. If she swung at my should I would just move my shoulder. Swung at my leg I would just move a leg. I was doing my bruce lee imitation. She has asthma so she tires herself out and has to go take a breathing treatment. I never got touched and she was so tired I didn't get a whoopin that night.
:giggle: :giggle: and your proud of that shit??:giggle:

Man, you going to make me sad up in here. I use to have hoop dreams. I was pretty good too. I stopped pursuing my hoop dream my sophomore year in college. Reality kind of hit me that I wasn’t going to the NBA because of that monstrous 2003 draft.

Plus, I was honest with myself. I simply wasn’t dedicated to the game enough. As much as I loved it, I didn’t do too much extra to get better.

7th grade caught a interception, took it to the house for a 78yd pick 6 vs our rival and sealed the win for us to win district - went sideline to sideline on they ass... Next day my name got mentioned during the morning announcements... That afternoon, got jacked off on the school bus home by this lil chick who would never give me play until that happened... 2 years later she was my personal head doctor...
