Global Corporations Wage War on AMERICA's PROFESSIONAL CLASS

Traditional white-collar American jobs, which required a 4 year college degree and held the promise of one becoming at a minimum an upper middle class earner, are being deliberately destroyed by trans-national corporate employers.

The jobs in civil, electrical, & computer engineering, all types of computer software programming, architecture, accounting, law and even medicine (MD’s, researchers, etc.) are either being outsourced to India, China, Singapore, Ireland, Barbados, Costa Rica, etc. - or- foreign workers on HB1 work visas are being brought into the US, to work at a fraction of what a comparable trained & educated American worker earns.

The video and article below illuminates this issue that the ‘corporate media’ has been dramatically scarce in bringing to the attention of the US populace. Lou Dobbs is one of the rare exceptions of a high profile journalist that has highlighted the strangulation of Americas highly educated skilled workers.

Paul Craig Roberts is also one of the few commentators who have been on-top-of this destruction of US jobs and consequentially the spectacular drop in the living standards and expectations of college educated workers. He lays out the facts below.

The video is of a major human resources law firm holding a seminar which explains to human resource managers of ‘Fortune 1000’ trans-national corporations, HOW TO LEGALLY AVOID HIRING QUALIFIED AMERICAN WORKERS. After all those pesky US workers might actually demand wages & benefits commensurate with the $30,000. - $130,000. they paid for their education and training.

This is happening because America stopped being a free market economy years ago. Today it is really a 'planned economy' where govt and big business work together to keep wealth in a small group. The ideal of a global economy or world market just means now people all over the world can be exploited and their labor converted to wealth for the elites. White Americans bought into the Republican movement during the 90's focusing on cultural and religious issues allowing business and government to basically end the free market economy and gradually kill-off the middle class. I wouldn't trust Lou Dobbs though this guy is just a paid mouthpiece he talks about whats going on but he doesn't offer any solutions and neither does any of the current presidential candidates.

I don’t have any sympathy for college educated people (the bourgeoisie) that are loosing their jobs to cheaper labor. It all can be summarized like this:

In the 1950s, Blacks started to demand equal rights and access to the economy, the cry was “here come the *******, their going to take your jobs, beware.”

In the 1960s, the cry was “those union workers, they make too much money and they don’t work hard enough, beware.”

In the 1970s, the cry was, “women want to wear the pants, and they are going to take all of the jobs from the men, beware.”

In the 1980s, the cry was “those middle managers, they have been working at the same outdated positions for years. They aren’t productive enough. We mush eliminate their jobs.”

In the 1990s, the cry was, “the world’s economy must become efficient. Americans are lazy and want too much for little work. We must have workers foreign workers that keep our cost down.”

Now, white men are feeling the lowering of their standard of living. When it was others, they weren’t concerned about corporate domination and globalization. At the same time the generation that came of age during the conservative/Reagan revolution bought in to this so called free trade/supply side/trickle down economics. What is left is a United States that has only one strength left that can persuade the world, the military. Bulling a world in to submission so the landscape left will be fertile for the multi national corporations to exploit sovereign nation’s natural resources and unorganized labor. Are the chickens coming home to roost?

Good post! It certainly reflects what I and other black people with degrees have been seeing. It used to be that having a BA would guarantee you a good job and a decent living. Then it became a Masters. Now, even a Masters doesn't guarantee you shit, especially in the IT market.
